Were you ever obsessed with the biography of someone famous and their works when this person was for example a writer, painter, actor, composer etc.? In my case - yes. It has been quite a long time since I was obsessed with someone famous but the people I was obsessed with whom were for example: Al Capone (mostly as a preteen girl and later one in her early teens when I was totally obsessed with the history of mafia), Hitler (mostly when I was a teenager), H. P. Lovecraft, Chopin (to a much smaller extent), Stephen King (though I was obsessed mostly with his books not his biography per se - I still am), L. M. Montgomery, Waris Dirie and Natascha Kampusch I greedily devoured every piece of knowledge on them I could find

Well I'm obsessed with Stephen Foster at the moment, a well-known historical figure of American music history.

I am currently obsessed with the life of Abraham Lincoln and I believe I would get interested in the life of some female stars of Hollywood from the silent movies era soon

As a kid I was obsessed with the life of Australian bushrangers (like outlaws in the American wild west). I can't remember most now but our most famous is Ned Kelly, he was really tall had dashing good looks and wore an improvised metal jacket and metal bucket with eyeholes.

He and his brother Dan and friends Steve Hart and Joe Byrne roamed rural Victoria from their base in a town called Glenrowan terrorising and robbing in the 1860s/70s. But what they were most famous for is their pitch battles with the police (whom Ned and his family considered corrupt) and their so called "proxy war" on the British crown.

the gang was finally shot dead by constables in what became known as the siege of Glenrowan at the Kelly homestead and Ned Kelly captured alive was hung in 1878. Ned Kelly became a national folk hero and a kind of symbol of resistance against British rule. It was only 20 years after Kelly was hanged, Australia became a federated nation in 1901 so it's kind of understandable why Kelly's story was appropriated by the independence movement as a symbol of resistance to the British crown and a symbol of freedom. However, a lot of what we know now, it's likely the gang's activities were largely romanticised in literature and they might have just been brigands.

But yeah, as a kid I was obsessed with Kelly gang and other bushrangers.

I had a mega huge crush obsession on a celebrity; she's an actress/singer. That developed as a coping mechanism during an eight year stretch when I was depressed about being single & very desperate for a relationship. I had a psychotic depression long before that & the celeb thing wasn't at the level of psychosis but I was a bit delusional but never stalking level & I never even tried to contact her or anything like that.

I've taken an an obsessive interest in many famous people. A few that come to mind: Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Cassidy, Syd Barret.
Although not a celebrity or historical figure, my perseverative interest in the life and suicide of Olivia Penpraze lasted a while.
I've always been fascinated by death and tragedy.
Due to synaesthesia and some early experiences with death that were difficult for me, I'm strongly attracted to music that expresses vast and profound sorrow.

Sure, I used to follow some Disney Channel stars like Miley and Demi on Myspace!! !

I wanted to be on DC as a teen but I don't think my mom liked the idea of me being famous at that age which is why as an adult I am going forward with the voice acting & animation goal

After watching Jaws, I so found the performance of Robert Shaw as Captain Quint that I sought out as many of his movies as I could see. I was devastated to learn of his early death. In homage of his role as the shark hunter, I bought the same model fishing reel as he used in the film, a Penn Senator 118 16/0 trolling reel.

Being a roller coaster enthusiast and researcher, I had a fascination with the legendary wooden coaster designer and builder, Harry Traver, who created the most frightening roller coasters in history -- the infamous Cyclone triplets at Crystal Beach in Canada, Palisades Park in New Jersey, and the Lightning at Revere Beach outside of Boston in 1927.

Not really obsessed but had a few idols (mostly writers and tech... most of the latter 'world famous in their own field').

Some dropped from their pedestals which always hurts. I try not to get into anyone too much but my heart (ok also the brain really...) does make me go all in too often.

No, not really. I think it's weird when someone is obsessed with a real person and not with whatever the person actually does. And we're lucky if celebrities don't end up in prison. And if they haven't done something that *should* put them in prison we're *really* lucky.

Virtually every person that created something I liked turned out to be horrible. But since most cartoons, TV shows and songs that I like were created by Americans, I have to separate the artist from the art no matter what.
