Is this a scam? I was unable to verify my email address when I signed up because my email provider blocked the verification email. Now I got a message saying my account is restricted and it's asking for my credit card information as well as the exact balance in my bank account. This is very weird, since I've never seen any site do this, much less a message board.

I received that too. Don't give it anything.

It's a scam, a lie. Ignore it.

I see through other reports that the request came via PM from the user "wrongplanetsupport", joined today.
This is a scammer account - now banned and the PM outbox emptied to kill off messages not yet picked up by other members.

WP has never and will never request any banking details or other personal information, for any reason.

Any similar PMs from other scammers suggesting otherwise should be reported and ignored.
Do not click on any link in the PM and do not reply to it.

Messages regarding your WP account will be sent by an Administrator or a Moderator; those accounts are clearly marked as such.
