Hi guys. I'm Casey. I'm new here and I need some help. I've had sensory processing disorder as a part of my autism my entire life. I was late diagnosed so I haven't really received any information on how to handle this. I've gotten to the point I'm walking up shaking and feeling very overstimulated. Is this normal? It's like I can't regulate my body temperature and am feeling stomach sensations, blood pressure sensations and various other things I can't single out and my brain is receiving it like a loud overwhelming static. Does anyone else do this? Is there something to help it? TIA. :jester:

Experiment with different clothes and don't worry about how you look.
When I sleep it helped for me to wear thinner bottoms than tops. It may help to wear warm gloves and socks.

During the summer I've worn crop tops and skirts to help stay cool.

Quiet time is needed. Self-care. Start keeping a journal and write down what happened before you felt triggered or stressed. Sometimes its certain people. Sometimes its certain situations.

Find ways to get your energy back to center.

My kid used to blow up a lot when she was overwhelmed, so when she did, I'd make a pot of tea and we'd have 10 minutes of shhhhh time while sipping tea.

I would just hide in my room in the dark, maybe take a nap.
