I seem to feel that despite being in my 30s, I still feel as though I'm mentally and some extent physically in my 20s and it makes me feel bad about it like as though I've got to be more "mature" at this stage and obviously I've grown with this idea that by your 30s you get married and so on but yet I went through my late 20s, early 30s up to now and here I am unlike others of those ages who've started settling down and starting a family and I'm still unmarried with no children (despite being unsure of having kids) and living at home with parents like I always have done but I don't really want to move out into some little flat or assisted living because I do feel like having a carer makes it feel like I'm a "child" or that I'm incapable of doing anything.

Yeah I have similar worries, I've always felt younger than I am and a bit of a failure compared to my peers. Still not married with kids like I hoped I'd be by now, I'm not super career minded but my work experience is spotty and mostly consists of cash in hand favours and bits of volunteering. Unemployed otherwise. I've lived alone since I was 21 but I know exactly what you mean about pride preventing you to ask for help with anything.

But if it's any consolation, not feeling your age is very common for all adults, not just us. Ask any old person how old they feel and they'll say 21 or something!

I also feel the same way. I'm 51 but there are days that I feel 21.
