Unlike when I wished people Merry Christmas before and at Christmas, I haven't really wished happy new year to anybody. I have had people say it to me but I just respond thank you and you too and that's it. Unlike Christmas and I've never felt like really celebrating new year.

I haven't wished anyone a happy new year, either. I don't see any point in doing so. I treat the whole of January like any other month.

It doesn't usually enter my head to say happy new year or merry christmas or whatever else. Such greetings feel too forced like I'm lying about how neutral I actually feel in the moment. But I reply with "you too" if someone says it first to be polite.
I sometimes celebrate new year if I've been invited to something but I'm just as happy to treat it like a normal day. My birthday was on the 2nd Jan so that feels like the real "new year" to me personally.

I went to my mother's house on nye for supper where she made her delicious glazed ham and homemade mac and cheese and coconut cream pie for dessert, but she noticed I was tired because I had to get up earlier so it would still be daylight by the time she got home because she can't see well at night. She told me next year I didn't have to come home if I didn't since I only came to have supper with her. I was a little worried she'd miss me not being home for the New Year even though I'd only been over just a week before, but she said it's okay and that she'd even bring the food over next time instead.

I really lucky to have a mom who accepts me for who I am, too many parents aren't that way at all.

And on New Year's I spent it like I do most other days, in front of the computer playing video games and watching videos, and occasionally getting out my drawing paper and doodling. If people think that makes me the "loser", then let them.

I say happy new year only if somebody says it first.
