I think people should be given the choice to work, because some of us just have creative sort of personalities that's not suited to the workplace and we'd prefer to be doing errands and duties at home. I know people will say ''but if we had a system like that then nobody would work'', but think again. What do you think the women's rights act was all about? Women thought it was unfair that they got given less rights and that it wasn't fair that men got to work. If nobody wanted to work then surely it would have been the men's rights instead, of men complaining that women didn't have to work so why should they, sort of thing. So, really, I think most people would rather work than not. And yes, there are perfectly capable people out there who have the natural ability to conform to workplace standards but just choose not to because they want to hang out with others with the same laziness, but when you have a different brain wiring that makes following rules and restrictions in the workplace difficult and you just literally don't feel that way inclined, I think you should be able to get some financial support from the government without needing to be crippled with physical or intellectual disability to be able to claim. I don't mind my taxes going to those sorts of people, if they're born here and struggle emotionally/socially. The workplace can be draining for us, especially when you're an easy target for bullies.
And there won't be a shortage of people for jobs either, because as long as we have this Elon Musk maniac who's too futuristically intelligent for his own good, more and more jobs are getting replaced by bots anyway.
