^I noticed this as well. It's very easy for politians to talk like they care about people all while they're throwing them under the bus by pushing policies that benefit themselves & their wealthy friends. Yet those politians keep winning elections for screwing over their constituents :( :skull:

Yeah so I finally got around to reading the linked article in the original post.

She seems pretty narcissistic and sociopathic to me.

^ Probably. "That very accusation – lacking empathy – is what tore apart my friendship with Esther."

I went through severe childhood abuse and some forms of neglect. As a child they said I had conduct disorder. I don't have emotional empathy for humans. I have a fair amount of emotional empathy for animals though. I can't deal with descriptions of animal abuse. I have a cat at home. I take good care of her. I do have cognitive empathy for humans though. I think my childhood taught me some partial skills in reading people, because I had to read the signs of approaching abuse being hurled at me. However my friend said that I'm not super great at reading people, and another friend said that I'm on alert with people. I live a solitary life, so I don't get much practise with people these days.

Very much relatable, in regards to empathy for animals. I cant look at the news anymore because of news about animal cruelty, and they make me have nightmares. I am very visual minded so images of dead or injured animals dont leave my head easily.
