I put a lot of work into growing these. Also my grandmother passed away recently and I was given many of her flowers to take home and add to my garden. I like to think she would have been proud of me for getting these to bloom so well. :flower:

What does everybody else think of those strong, pretty flowers?

I'm glad you like my flowers. :flower:

I find comfort in being in nature and growing flowers. I've even started attempting to dedicate a mini altar to the Roman Goddesses of Gardening: Flora, Ceres, and Pomona.

Flora is the Goddess of Flowers.

Ceres is the Goddess of Grains

Pomona is the Goddess of Fruit

That's actually a photo I took with my phone of a group of statues representing the trio of Roman Goddesses up in the New England area where my sister lives. I was pretty inspired by the. and even printed this photo out to frame on an altar of mine.

Also some fruits I managed to grow so far:

A fat juicy blackberry

A peach

A plum

And a couple of cherry tomatoes that I actually grew from the seeds of discarded expired cherry tomatoes that were bought from Walmart.

You done Well.. wish I had your green thumb,, those were gorgeous flowers . And the fruits and berries are very nice.
Am still trying to get things started ..And the statues are a lovely add to the the garden. Things I have are nainly from seeds, and not even confident, I can get them to germinate . Then ,if I do , Scared of transplant shock ..but I still will be trying . Thank you for sharing the Piks .

Glad you like my plants. :flower:

And those statues arent actually in my garden (I wish I had them though lol). Those were very large lifesized statues I found in front of a mansion with a large public garden somewhere near Salem when I went to visit my sister and she took us on a tour of the area.

I dont remember the name of the place where I found the statues but i took really nice photos of each statue while i had the opportunity to do so (against a beautiful twilight sky too! ). I later researched them on Google and learned that these statues form a trio of Classical Roman Goddesses who are connected to gardening: Flora the Goddess of Flowers, Ceres the Goddess of Grains, and Pomona the Goddess of Fruits.

This was something I found up in the New England area, but apparently there's even a secret society here in the deep south where Im from called The Grange or The Order of the Patrons of Husbandry which is made up of farmers and gardeners and they apparently pay tribute to these three nature goddesses in ritualistic ways almost like the Free Masons.

It's probably just a harmless club but as a neopagan and a believer of the occult myself I find that absolutely fascinating. Here's a little blog I found about this group.

Also I will say this. When things really get bad here in the US I think teaching myself to grow my own food from seeds will prove a useful survival skill to have.

I know this aint the place for discussing politics but I just have a bad feeling about our future.

I need to figure out ways to grow and scavenge my own food while i still can, and keep mentally stable. :?
