"Les" from the Funky Winkerbean three-frame comic strip of years ago. It was nationally syndicated. Les looked nerdy, glasses, and was always portrayed as the oddball. He'd get sand kicked in his face on the beach by the handsome muscle guys.

There was one where he's at the beach, talking about being tired of getting sand kicked in his face, and that finally, he had a solution for it. He says: "I brought a gun!"

I'm watching some old Doctor Who featuring the second incarnation of the Time Lady Romana. Gettin' some autistic vibes off her body language, particularly the way she often doesn't quite seem to clock that someone else is present and talking to her.

Probably been mentioned already but the original Sherlock Holmes for sure. It was certainly played up big time in the Sherlock series.

Vox from Hazbin Hotel. He has intense special interests (technology, media, and sharks), difficulty with social nuances/empathy, meltdowns/shutdowns, and communication differences (bluntness, needing processing time).

I've probably already said this in this thread, but I definitely think the character Roland Browning from Grange Hill had some sort of mild form of autism. Even when he'd got to the third year and grew more confident, there was still some sort of distance between him and the rest of the kids.

Sometimes a character not written with any intentions of being on the spectrum can actually be more relatable to people on the spectrum than characters that were purposely given autism, as the latter usually involves too many stereotypes. Carl from the children's cartoon show Arthur comes to mind here. His behaviour seems more like lower-functioning autism, while characters like George seem more likely to be on the spectrum. DW seems more ADHD and is similar to what I was like as a child, though I was more like George when I was at school; quiet, sometimes ignored, and struggled academically yet highly creative (even though I wasn't dyslexic).

i think if you went into it base-game without the thought you wouldn't think anything of it, but going into base-game with the thought that she is autistic you'd see it. i may just be projecting my autism onto her though. I get attatched to characters with autistic traits xD

It's believed that the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen was autistic. At least two of his fictional characters has strong autistic traits. "The Princess and the Pea" - the princess is clearly hyper-sensitive and the little boy in "The Emperor's New Clothes" is immune to peer-pressure.
