Hi Wrong Planet!

Okay, where to begin....
I joined here in February 2007. I never became that active, but I had a long pause between posts between 2010 and 2024. I never completely forgot about this place. Every so often, I came to visit, but just did not post.
And then I thought about making a post like this, announcing my return, but I couldn't the words right. So I decided to just start commenting on people's posts here and there, like I never left!
Then April 2026, I wrote a blog post reflecting on my time on Wrong Planet, and it was then I realized the site was down. And a couple days ago, when I tried it again, it worked and I got in!

So now... it's time to say Hi again. I'm Heather, I was diagnosed as a teenager and joined WP shortly after, but didn't fully understand the diagnosis, and WP helped a lot in those early days. Mostly I read a lot, and posted in the fun and random topics.

A lot has happened since 2010 to now, of course. I have learned so much more about myself now in my thirties, and some of my autistic traits became more obvious as I took on more responsibilities. I am married and working full time, it's a lot, but I have a lot of little ways I accommodate myself and my employer is nice to me!

I like to read, and weirdly I enjoy nonfiction, autobiographies and history these days alongside some fiction too. I enjoy diving into my family history and piecing together the stories. I also have a bunch of plushies and dolls and take pictures of them for Instagram when I feel like it, it's a bit of a creative outlet for me. And I have been writing some reflections on a personal blog which has been a great experience too.

So I think that's good for now. Ok, see you around the forum.

I hope this time you find it worth the trip.
(I'll admit that it was quiet here before the outage, and now it is really quiet. But that suits me, I hope it suits you.)

And yes, so far I've been enjoying being back exploring WP. I have noticed the slower pace, but I think that can be nice. I hope more people find their way back after the outage. I know forums weren't as they used to be. I think I like being here even more, because I feel like I have so much more to say and contribute than I used to! I just hope I can stick around, popping in regularly enough to keep up with the slower speed.

Welcome back, Heather — it’s lovely to see you again. You’ve been missed, even if you were quietly reading along. It’s wonderful to hear you’re married, working full-time, and finding ways to look after yourself. Your family history research and creative outlet with the plushies both sound like lovely passions.
