No, you're not alone at all. Sheeple out there. I'm a loner by choice.

Mental illness is worse than ever now. And it's not hard to see why.

Wait, is the world the way it is because people are mentally ill, or are people mentally ill because of the world being the way it is? :duh:

I suspect it's both.

Some people are more prone to mental illness than others and might experience it regardless of circumstances, but the stress of living in a deeply broken society also contributes to peoples mental illness.

But, I don't believe it's worse than ever. People have always been nuts, we're just more prone to describing it as mental illness instead of creating euphemisms for it.

On the plus side, serial killers are much less common these days compared to the '60s through '90s.

I would say yes. Finding people that are not crazy in some fashion is a bit like finding a unicorn.
We're all on the same boat, traveling in the same direction, heading for the same destination. That is metaphor laden, obvious, and undoubtedly stupid... How does that put a roof over someone's head, and provide them with nutrition? Must be a house boat.

As John Lennon wrote, "You know you can't hide, when you're crippled inside." Well, that's just nuts!
