Me and my friend were on a busy footpath, he was looking at a street sign for food and I was just standing around. They were maybe Turkish (which explains the clashes of different ways of thinking), all middle aged were coming towards us in a horizontal line.
I got the vibe that they wanted me to gracefully step aside and they gracefully walk on past me. Like I said to a friend "I'm a gentleman, when I feel like it." For example if someone was elderly or a women was distressed I would step aside. I don't think they liked this because one of them past me so close I should of been able to smell there breath.
In the USA, presenting as a short guy, I'd be expected to step aside.
It is precisely the opposite now that I present as a petite female with an hourglass figure and a thin waist. I find that *everyone* , male and female, steps aside for me.
