Anyone been watching series 2 of Patience - 8 episodes this time. I've streamed them on ch.4

Barnes and Noble doesn't list season 2 (for the U.S.) yet.

I guess I just need some Patience.

As its based on the French show called Astrid, it might run to I think; 7 series. (A series per year: WOW)

Except Astrid et Raphaëlle, so far, has gone with eight episodes per season and, so far, Patience is doing six episodes per season.

Which surprised me when I was watching Patience. Its episodes resembled the beginning episodes of Astrid et  Raphaëlle so I was surprised it stopped before matching all of it's Season 1.

I cannot remember if I've watched the 2025 episodes of Astrid or not. They started in October.
If I did, it was because Double Retired posted about the new series, but the last thing I remember him posting about was Patience. Just because I remember it that way, doesn't mean it happened that way.

I don't think I've seen anything of Astrid since series 3, maybe 4. I have to look for airings.

I found season 4 and 5 of Astrid on PBS. I don't recall watching 4 or 5, so I'm starting from the first season and will watch it through series 3 and then when I watch 4 and 5, I will have more current memory of where everyone's character development is.
It's also nice to hear reinforcing information, like when William tells Raphaëlle about Astrid's achilles heel. Puzzles.
I also how some of the police were suspicious of Astrid because she visited the scene of a crime, and she knew so much about the case. They interrogate Astrid pressuring he to talk and they don't know she autistic.

Astrid season 5 has 8 episodes. In UK EP 1 has kicked off on our channel 4 but I can't get to stream yet. Watch this space.

I watched Astrid series 4 and 5, as they followed Patience series 1 and 2 in E4's schedules. It's always been Wed and Thu in Jan for Patience, so over in three weeks.

I checked the episode guides, and I can't match up episodes or cases. I think Patience has quickly diverged from Astrid in the perosnal story of each character, as well as cases. For eample, you can see that in that Astrid only gets seriously romantically involved in series 5, while Patience is there in series 2. Yet, there is borrowing. For example, the speed-dating. Afterwards, both characters bump their heads on the table bewailing "why do peole do this to themselves!". The overriding commonality seems to be why Astird and Patience are orphaned, and can't remeber their childhoods.

I think the writer (Matt Baker) has different ideas he wanted to explore, and I think Ella Maisy Purvis has a strong enough intellect that she drives some of the differences too.

Something I noticed, I wonder if anyone else did: there seem to be glaring errors that are just too obvious to be down to accidents or ignorance. A really big one is that Patience has been left a puzzle box by her mother. A yellow Post-It note bears a 5 digit number - a clue. In one episide of series 2, Patience excitedly reveals she recognises the number as a mathematical curiosity: a "vampire number", which is the product of two numbers that have the same digits as the resultant product. There's a Wikipedia page on them. Trouble is, vampire numbers must always have an even number of digits.

Okay, continental (Belgian) electrical sockets in a supposed English country house, and a bus that drives there on the right are production issues. But plot holes?

I think these sorts of errors are deliberate and I wonder if the show's producers are doing it because they know that autists often spot mistakes like that and like to point them out and explain why. Is that like giving us Easter eggs?

I didn't like how Astrid was portrayed. Too stereotypical I thought. I actually liked Extraordinary Attorney Woo Young-Woo better.
