Why do people treat casual sex like a dangerous thing?
My mom said to me if I engage in my promiscuous sexual behavior she will kick me out of the house and bring me to a group home. Why would she call my sexual life a “behavior”? Is this related to my autism in any way because no one ever calls someone’s causal sex life a “behavior”. What is this all about? What should I do about this situation?
Short answer - people love to cause drama out of nothing. They make up specific rules and then tell everyone else to follow. Often, rules do not make any sense at all, they are needed only to feel self-importance, like you doing something by abiding them, being a better person or whatever.
This exact rule, i believe, used to make sense in middle ages, when there was no contraceptives and people didn't wanted unexpected children (especially from "wrong" parents). Times changed and with proper precautions sex is not different from massage, but humanity just got used to the rule so much that most people don't want to question why it still exists. Especially if they are obsessed with religions, morales or other codes of conduct. It is not related to the autism, she is just a self-rightious person who things she knows the only proper way to live. Sadly, my experience tells that you can't reason with such people.
The less girm way to look on that could be to assume that she does not believe you will be reasonable when it comes to protection and choice of partners. But in that case she would offer advice and guidance, and not threats.
