I am high functioning autistic and said on another forum that I’m sexually active and been dating a guy and someone had the nerve to say this to me.

“It has been established that you are low functioning and low iq.

You have stated several times and proved through conversation that you are at an elementary school aged mindset.

You have also said that your "boyfriend" which we all know as abuser is uncomfortable going out with you because of your low iq and low functioning, he says that you're like a child.

But in that same breath, you also say he uses you sexually. This is molestation and you don't even see it because you are a child inside. It's so sad.

You are not having sex, you are being molested.

If I were you parent, would form a strict legal guardianship over you.

If I had an adult child as low functioning, you wouldn't be allowed to leave the house without my consent to even have an opportunity to meet a boy.

And I'd have you in therapy to heal what abuse occurred early in life to make you glom onto that groomer.

The way you think about sex is not normal. You are being abused and you don't even see it.

You behave and speak in the same way I knew a girl in sixth grade who was being groomed and abused by an adult in his twenties. She had the same attitude as you mirrored almost word for word.

After reading the months of your posts on here, as a mother, I'm actually viscerally disappointed in your parents for allowing this to occur. If I knew them, I'd be reporting them to the state protective agency for not keeping a good enough watch over their low functioning daughter, allowing her to be abused so terribly.”

How can I deal with this comment that is taking this too far and thinking I am so low functioning I can’t leave the house to date like a normal person and accusing my boyfriend of molesting me all because she thinks I’m extremely low functioning? I am not. The way she worded it saying it’s so sad the way you are make me feel less then and worthless and affecting my mental health. There are many people that deserve love like everyone else including me. What should I do about this?

You have repeatedly mentioned intellectual disability and being under guardianship. They might be drawing the wrong conclusions from those disclosures.

She is intellectual disabled and don’t know better. She is a serial cheater because of impulse problems related to her disability. Typical people don’t have their parents telling the boyfriend for them they cheated why is it different for an intellectual disabled adult that cheated the parents have to get involved? What’s so different? She’s an adult.

I have autism, mild intellectual disability and impulse control disorder so why aren’t I allowed to break up with my boyfriend I am under medical guardianship due to compulsive sexual behavior ?

If it's on a forum, explain your situation to the mods via DM and ask them to intervene.

Yeah that’s true but the mods agree with them. What else should I do?

You could try to explain to the person that you're considered high functioning.

It will be harder though if the mods also interpreted your disclosures in the same manner. That doesn't mean it isn't worth having the fight, but it does undermine your odds of achieving the desired outcome.

I keep trying to explain to them that I’m high functioning and they won’t believe me. They are being really nasty about my abilities and even called my boyfriend a molester just because he is dating me. What should I do about this now? This crosses the line.

I agree it crosses the line, but I'm not sure a solution exists unless you can somehow appeal higher up than the mods or seek to have the moderators replaced with ones who won't join in the bullying against you.

Yes that’s true and what this woman said was bullying? I had no problem dating and I can date a typical guy if I wanted to. No one has a problem with it. What should I do?

I'm gonna be blunt here & say there might be nothing you can do to change their minds. It's not uncommon for others to think of autism as very negative stereotypes & you can not get them to understand if they are unwilling to have an open mind. It's might be best for you to take a break for that forum for a while.
I've had major problems on a forum I used a lot before joining WP. Some majorly misunderstood me & thought of me as a narcissistic troll who was intentionally causing problems. Some really wanted me gone. I eventually realized it would be a lot better for both me & the ones who wanted me gone if I did not stay where I was unwanted. WP was a much better community for me since lots of us can really relate to living in a world not designed for us & being misunderstood.

Yes that’s true. So basically that person doesn’t understand autism too much? And is ignorant?

I'm not sure it's intended as bullying, so much as it's busy-bodies who aren't minding their own business because they misunderstood your initial disclosures and they now feel obliged to 'protect' you from yourself.

This is one of the downsides of sharing/oversharing and part of why I personally don't bring up portions of my life where I'm uncertain about how disclosures might be misinterpreted.

Yeah that’s true so how can I prevent this in the future so no one thinks worse then I actually am?

And I should not have said I also have an IQ of 76 which is borderline intellectual functioning? They took it the wrong way and thought I was low functioning and went as far as calling my boyfriend a molester. No one in my real life thinks he’s a molester. They always say how cute we are together! What are your thoughts now? What this woman said wasn’t true? She just had ableist assumptions and said untrue things about me? It really crosses the line! And this is the definition of borderline intellectual functioning. https://www.capitalclemency.org/mental- ... nctioning/ What are your thoughts?
