Hundreds of long lost brothers and sisters appearing as ghosts on old archived threads

Most of these types of forums went out of existence years ago. As slow as it's become WP is a rare survivor.

I wonder what has happened to the people who were active on here 20 years ago I mean, what they are doing now, how they are dealing with life For example, I remember well such a guy whose nickname was KBAZ; he had a snake avatar with the caption that said: "beware, assspie" Or Ukenkerl. I also remember Starbuline (her real name was Sophia from what I remember and she was about 16, she was obsessed with Russia) - she commited suicide at some point, it was quite soon after I joined. I remember back then there were many teens on here - people who were like 13, 15, 17... There were even children, too, like EddietheDog who was, I believe 8, when he joined

I had to check out what it is - I didn't know this term in English although I do know, of course, what a reliquary (relikwiarz in my language) is per se

Every time a thread is revived, I see avatars of members who have moved on. It gives me a strange feeling.

I used to treat it a lot like a twitter feed when I was younger, just writing whatever. But I'm not sure what to actually talk about as it stands.

It's a shame it's so inactive now. Activity did pick up for a bit but since the 5-month long disconnection it has lost a bit of its users.

My threads don't get seen much here, if at all, and I never know where's the best place to post them so they'll be seen.

Sometimes the problem isn't a lack of people seeing the post, it's no one knowing how to respond or not wanting to invest the effort to respond.

True, though I have this problem more when chatting one-to-one online rather than on a forum, as not everybody thinks the same.

Maybe some people didn't like this site. Maybe they found people on it were too mean. Or maybe they were mean, and they didn't like being told off.

Especially when it comes to the forums about religion, politics, love and dating.

There was one particular member who kept on telling me not to use Schultz for an avatar or else younger members will start seeing me as a Nazi. The very moment I stood up for my right to use Schultz, he disappeared and hasn't been back for nearly 2 years. I think he left because of me. I am very hard to control.

I suppose that being dead for five months was, for most purposes, actually being dead. I assume that it took fewer than five months to convince most users that it really was dead and they moved on to other interests...and saw no point in wasting time by continuing to check for activity in a presumably dead web page.

There are an awful lot of threads on WP, especially for the level of activity. It might create the feeling that you could be wandering around on a dead planet with very little chance of stumbling into anyone else.


QUESTIONS
Should more folk be encouraged to visit WP? Or, should it be left to die?
This is the only web community I belong to. Personally, if it dies I don't know where else to go to.

What could motivate more folk to visit WP?
Including:
⃝ Old users who thought it died and moved elsewhere.
⃝ New users that are completely unfamiliar with WP.

Um...I assume/hope Cornflake and, especially, Alex would like WP to be more active.
