Is this probation as in being on probation for new job?
Yes, I started a new job recently and my probation period was three months. I've reached the final week.
During that time I've been employee of the month, trained three members of staff and helped raise our overall score internally against other stores in the area. So, I think that it's within the interest of corporate to keep me around. I strongly suspect that I will pass.
I've been in and out of jobs. Most of my jobs have been temporary retail contracts where I've had to search for the next thing quite quickly, so I've spent a good chunk of my twenties job searching.
On the one hand, it's good that I've secured a job that is a permanent position. It's been a while since I had one of those. However, there is a feeling of dread that comes with that. I am aware of the possibility that I may be stuck in the retail industry / sector now. Possibly until retirement.
I can't predict the future. Unfortunately, I can't really think of what else I could do for work. Nor do I want to leave too soon, otherwise my CV might suffer. Although if you leave it too late, I guess the CV also suffers.
