They took down the Autism Speaks Interview on AFF!

Autism Speaks and their agenda/believed agenda is a very touchy subject. There are strong feelings on both sides of the issue. AFF just happens to have some very militant individuals who decided to attack Tambourine-Man. He didn't deserve it. Others there are just like people here.

Personally, I am very cautious about anything Autism Speaks says, strictly based on what they've said in the past. But I do applaud Tambourine-Man's efforts to bring an Aspie viewpoint to them. Autism Speaks needs an Aspie voice, needs people who live Autism every day of their lives, to tell it like it is. Otherwise, NTs tend to go strictly by observation and well meaning ideas, but they will never be "one of us," so how can they really know what we think and feel about things. I would hope that they would invite even more Aspies to write about issues and become involved in their discussions. Otherwise it's like they are ignoring us and think they "know better" as to what we need.

It would be nice if certain aspects of AFF were to become less militant, because this very militant attitude seems to blind them from seeing opportunities and possibilities right in front of them.

Keep it up Tambourine-Man, but also watch out that you don't become some sort of "token Aspie" or "Autism poster boy" for Autism Speaks.

Telling the truth isn't defamation. Maybe you should be quiet.

Don't be so ridiculous...

An accusation as serious as that - tantamount to attempted murder in some states - made against a clearly identified individual on record, in a public place without sufficient evidence to warrant criminal prosecution, let alone without evidence of any kind, is a very serious form of actionable defamation.

It would be best for Alex if Holman deleted it from his post, and if he does have the decency to do that I will follow suit with all reference to it and hope you will too.

I'm sure a moderator will take care of it. My accusation is not without tons of evidence, that can be found simply by googling Gaye Dalton, Zeraeph, and Mechanima. How many years has this been going on? How many sites have you been banned from?

There is also public evidence that you stalked me, my family, my girlfriend, and spread a ridiculous rumor that resulted in numerous individuals fearing for my life.

You may not be the only Zeraeph, but you are the only one who also uses the name Mechanima.

What I have done here does not violate any rule you haven't violated yourself. I am only protecting myself and others. I would welcome a moderator to delete the messages after this has been taken care of.

I think all this is because they actually thought I was threatening to make their silly PMs public...which...well...NO WAY...I'd look a complete IDIOT if I did...I was just trying to lighten their silliness up...


All this may calm down quite a lot if I remind them that their silly pms really were quite tame and harmless...and they must be mixing them up with the pms they sent someone else to be panicking like this...

I am just hoping they will calm down, the bloodlust will go off them and they will realise it isn't fair to post defamatory allegations against clearly identified individuals on somebody else's website is all.

The only thing that is clear is what has always been clear, that you have a serious knife into me...that has got nothing to do with fairness or reality...if you want to share the real reasons, feel free...

However, have you got the kind of knife into Alex Plank that you want to encourage actionable defamation against identified parties to appear and sit on his site until somebody sues him to kingdom come for it?

...and when that happens will you be contributing to what it costs him...because you really should...

Let me spell out the legal position here.

If John Scott Holman (or anyone) genuinely believes somebody is stalking them, or even "Spending all day stalking people on mental health forums, preying on the vulnerable and attempting to get them to commit suicide?", that is a very serious crime and they not only have a right, but are also UNDER OBLIGATION to report it to their local law enforcement agency.

However, if they, or anyone else (like a site owner) publishes such an accusation it is defamation under any law internationally and actionable...

That is the actual law on these things.
