There's no reason to worry about getting drafted.

As far as I know the US doesn't have conscription.

Better to be a conscientious objector if they ever did again!

But they wouldn't draft medically unfit people in any case. Neither me nor my BF went to the army aduring the 1980s when we had conscription as we were both rejected in medical grounds.

The war has not yet been declared

And you are worried about a draft?

"Be prepared" is a good motto, but worrying about the draft, does not prepare you for a draft

The military (United States) has numerous disqualifiers, and they are often changing

Autism
Depression
Generalized anxiety disorder
Obsessive compulsive disorder (comorbid with autism)

And I got:
Over six months, counseling
Menopause
Gender identity Disorder


Waivers take one year at Military Entrance Processing Station

Waivers are not guaranteed

The military contains many Military Occupational Specialty


Not just infantry

Musician, finance technician, shower laundry technician


If there is a draft, many people won't "make it"

Draft dodger

Absent with out leave

Dishonorable discharge

Move to Canada

You have options

Maybe I won't get drafted then. But something IS going to happen to me. I feel it every day lately.

My heart rate has been high lately. Once it was up 120 bpm. Maybe it's going to end up being a heart attack?

Anyway, this is what I posted in the context of another recent thread:

I don't think there's anything wrong with being cynical because cynics are often right about everything and I think they're right about that too.

Although to be honest I think corruption has always been an issue within the US from the moment it became a country.

That might be true, but it looks like it was better on average 60 years ago compared to today. Even though we still had racism and social problems of it's own back then. Today we seem to be closer to collapse than we ever were then though.

I agree, and like I pointed out before Americans aren't the same people that they were 100 years ago or even 50 years ago. They don't seem to have the same loyalty to their country that they used to have.

For example nobody joins the military anymore because they want to serve their country, they join because they are desperate for a job or for college and they all hope that they never have to fight in battle. As a pacifist who is against war I do understand that but the harsh reality is that there comes a time when every country has to fight to protect what is there's or else they will be destroyed. It's sad but true.

Also I think we've given too much power to the federal government and our government takes advantage of how poorly educated and misinformed most Americans really are about politics.

That's the issue I have with you calling yourself "very liberal" if you mean it in the modern sense. I'm sure some conservatives want control too, but that's not the point now. I don't really believe conservatism is the opposite of liberalism in the traditional sense.

Ok so maybe I'm not "very" liberal or "very" conservative. I guess I'm either a mix of both or neither.

I have my own opinions and ideals, just like everybody else.

I also wish anyone including my parents didn't think I was crazy or annoying by talking about it, I'm tired of them blaming the internet or saying that I should just resign to whatever happens and "stop b** and live your life already". I want to be heard and understood. I can write an entire rant about my parents like that.

On the topic, I sometimes look back in the past even before I was born and long to have experience my 20s in the 70s, 80s, or 90s instead of the 2010s. I feel bad about society and that some of my dreams for life are fading because of it. It's only getting worse. I feel that if I'd die I'd go experience and re-live what that might've been like. I was a growing up Christian and I thought you go to Heaven when you die, but that doesn't appeal to me anymore.

I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I think I believe in reincarnation and becoming a ghost. I don't really believe in heaven and hell.

I think I must have experienced something in a past life that is similar to what is happening to the world now. I feel like somehow history really is repeating itself.

I know that sounds very crazy but that is what I honestly believe.

Even if I really didn't live in a past life I think there's a lot of evidence that the world is going to hell. It's not just the US either...
