Well, I just got PM from ''Mommy of Peanut'' and on the last line of her PM she invited me to respond. And, as usual, I can't respond because I don't have PM rights. Can someone restore them already -- especially since it has already been several months since the time you told me that you WILL.

Did you contact Alex, as TallyMan suggested - and asked again above?
He is the only person who would be able to sort out any problems with PM rights.

i'll let her know that you could not receive the PM and she can perhaps send it to your email.

I believe I sent him email, I didn't receive any response. I don't know his phone number though.

To be precice:

a) Yes I RECEIVED and READ her PM

b) The problem is that I can't REPLY

In her very last sentence she asked me to reply, and that part the system doesn't let me do.

right, my mistake. i suppose your best bet is to paste your question or clarification here, then. normally it's against the rules but we would make a special case because obviously you have no other option.

Well, since the issue she PM-ed me about involved deletted thread, I don't think it is a good idea to "resurrect" the deletted topic on some other thread.

Besides, I would like my PM rights back regardless since I was told that I WILL get them back.

As you'll know from the preceding thread there was a time when moderators had the ability to grant/deny PM rights, but this is no longer the case so what you were told would happen cannot now happen.
Alex is currently the only person who could restore those rights.

The only ways I know of contacting Alex are shown on his profile: http://www.wrongplanet.net/forums-profi ... e-u-3.html or his own domain: http://alexplank.com/
I don't understand, though: you seem unsure that you sent him an EMail about restoring your PM rights?

the moderators have no power over your PM rights, so talking about it here will get you nowhere. if alex didn't give them back to you, then he may not intend to do so. or maybe he is busy. can't say that i know either way. all i know is that i can't do a thing about it, nor can any other mod.

i gave you permission as a moderator to discuss the thread that was removed because you don't have any other option at present. if you choose not to do so, i will assume it is not a pressing matter.

I am writing to you as a moderator on WP, to let you know I've removed your thread 'Is it safe?' I am concerned about the content of this thread and believe it is designed to provoke other members and, as such, is in violation of WP rules. The title of your thread also leads me to believe this was your intention, given that it is a reference to the film 'Marathon Man'. I would appreciate it if you refrain from posting anything of this nature again.

Please let me know if you have another explanation for your thread.

Thank you.

First of all, I never heard of a movie 'Marathon Man' until you mentioned it right now. Now that you did mention it, I saw a youtube clip on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG5Qk-jB0D4 and I am quite confused as to the point of it. But, regardless, I never heard of it until you mentioned it.

Regarding provoking others, actually my intention was to provoke people at my school --NOT on this board -- which is why i was talking about using my school's account instead of making up allias. So far I was stoping myself every time I had an impulse to do that -- I tried and stopped myself like 3 or 4 times for the past half a year. So thats why I asked whether or not I will get away with it if at some point I do do it. I mean if the school will just tell me off without major consequences then thats fine; but if they are going to be kicking me out then no I don't want to lose my career over it. Thats the reason for my question.

did you have a question about it, then? or are you apologising for making an inflammatory post?

MY question that I have is the same one as was in the original post that was deletted. The point of this reply was to answer HER question ''Please let me know if you have another explanation for your thread''

the reason for your thread is still not sufficient to allow the thread to remain. you were asking advice as to whether you would be allowed to send a racist email through a certain account, but that is not a question for WrongPlanet as racism is not permitted here. if you want advice as to how to send a racist email, i would suggest that you ask that on a racist website that supports your ideology.

Well, technically speaking, I haven't made any racist statements in that thread. I simply asked about the policy. In fact, in the original post I was very careful to phrase it in such a way that even avoided mentioning that I was the one sending the email. But then when one of the responders acted like there would be MEDIA PRESSURE involved, I had to clarify the situation by explaining that I am not talking about celebrity or anything like that; that was the first time I mentioned that the person in question was myself.
