Calandale's goin' on about free speech again?

Free speech is not protected on this, privately owned site.

Oh, c'mon. If you really think that's the only thing that makes this site of value, then you definitely need to be somewhere else.

Not sure what your colloquilism means, but yes.
'Tis the only important thing on the internets, I fear.

With his advice, he absolutely deserves being provoked.
And his responses indicate just how mature he is.

BS. I define it as EVERYONE'S right.
If you looked, you'd see that.

Luckily you (for all your shouting) and Alex, don't seem
to agree on this, in most cases. And you've mostly learned
to keep your mouth shut where you don't. Until now.

I didn't mean that 'twas the only thing. There's also the
size of the membership. Which, as we saw recently, decreased
dramatically, when speech was limited. Although most of those who
left returned - to some extent, they aren't posting as they once were.
Tyrannical concepts will drive more away. Is that what you desire?

Of course. That's necessary. And honest.
Doesn't mean that it should be applied indescriminately,
nor to silence opposition. Doing so only gives credance to
certain complaints, and drives members away.

Do you really think going on and on about this, like a stuck record, is going to change anything?
Do you think by writing reams of words about the same thing that something is magically going to change just for you, who are the only one bringing this up again and again?
It just seems a little pointless as it wont achieve anything in the long run.

So is that it? The size of your audience and the fact that you believe that you can say whatever you want? Nothing about a valuable information resource? Nothing about helping other aspies learn to cope better with their ASDs in an NT world? Is that the extent of the value you place on this site?

You claim it is everyone's right in your words. Your actions tell a different story.

I mentioned each event once.
And replied to each answer.
I don't consider that bringing
it up, again and again.

Fair enough. That's not really how I meant
it to be taken. What I mean is that that
advice HAS to be challenged. It's simply
not generally applicable, in the way he
implies. The fact that the site is giving
such questionable advice a stamp of
approval is also disturbing.

No. The size and that everyone can discourse freely.
NOT say whatever they want. There is a difference
between free speech, and no limits whatsoever. Even
I2 has limits.

As to the rest, those things FOLLOW from the freedom
to speak. As long as people are free to discuss and
criticize any advice given, a balanced view of such
resources will follow - presuming that the membership
is interested in discussing them, which they are here.

Please give me an example of an action that
I took, either as a mod, or through posting,
which hindered someone's reasonable right
to speak here. Now, since my posts are
entirely words, and I'm no longer a mod,
the ONLY way that I could do so would be
by using some sort of spamming tactics.

While some consider my posts spam, the
ones defending freedoms are anything but.

I seem to remember on Aspies For Freedom that not too many people thought DataSage's advice for dating was very applicable to most aspies. I thought at the time it must have been a book that somebody published. It actually got bagged really heavily by a few people.

That's nonsense. It's applicable to everyone, however, it's far from easy. The reason there are so many aspies out there with so many problems is that they're not trying hard enough, and I know that because I never gave up. And now I'm successful.

Not that this is really a debate which should be held
here. Indeed, it SHOULD be in the thread itself, except
for the fear that any criticism would be deleted.

But what about the ones who want something better than just brief flings? I also think you could put on the name of your guide that it is one for getting NT females.

Perhaps we should all just put our own best advice out there without trashing what others have to say.
