Did you move to a new area or are you still in the same one? If new, then keep an eye out on potential partners when meeting people living close to you.

Same area, only 1km away from where I was living.
Ouch. Double ouch if it's a small town. Still, keep your eyes open.
It's not a small town. It's the 3rd most populated city in my country.
Then you have good chances at meeting new people.
Opportunities are probably better than they would be if I was living in a less populated area, but I guess there just aren't that many things that motivate me to get out much.
In saying that, new doors might be opening up, though perhaps not for the right demographic. I assist my mum with hosting a trivia night, and have done so for the past 6 and a half years, and we started up again about 6 weeks ago after being shut down due to covid. We'd only ever hosted 1 or 2 venues at a time in the past, but now my mum has acquired three additional venues and a contact who is well-connected and interested in getting her to expand into doing bingo as well.
The plan now is to rebrand and refresh our trivia business and try to expand so that my mum, my brother and I all have enough trivia and bingo gigs each that we can sustain ourselves off of trivia and bingo alone and not need to work any other jobs.
To earn as much as I am now with my 38 hour a week job, I'd need to get 6-8 trivia and bingo gigs a week, which all go for 1-2hrs each. Even accounting for having to prepare trivia, I could earn as much as I do now by working half as many hours and working a more enjoyable job, so I'm hopeful that this'll work out.
If this does happen, I'm also inevitably going to get more exposure to new people, in a position that gives me a bit of status. Most of the people that come to our trivias tend to be middle-aged, but not all.
