It's not that I don't want to address your self-victimization and claims of double standard, it's that I don't see it as an answer to my question. It just strikes me as irrelevant whining.

I don't feel victamized at all, my sleep isn't being affected. I'm just pointing out obvious double standards. If you want to deny them, and just continue to add banana's to Vig's pizza, then so be it.

You can continue to have your discussion about a double standard all by your lonesome. Just remember that you're fictionalizing my part to meet your need to continue to go on about it. None of it actually answers my original question, which, for the sake of futility, I will repeat:

What misogyny existed on the original Mens Discussion forum that would not be considered misogyny today?

It probably would be the same as it was before, even though in reality there probably wasn't much real misogyny going on. Things used to be crazy strict at one time on here, but luckily its different now. And again, probably what you'd see as misogyny has been going on in the women's forum for years.

^^ I think wefunction thinks that a men's forum isn't needed because men weren't suppressed in the past , that's probably what she meant by " This is really no more ridiculous than white people complaining about Black Entertainment Television on cable tv in the US". She just believes that only groups who face social/political suppression need a dedicated forum. That's why she was trying hard to disvalue and ridicule our "cause" (lol) , whether by pointing out that there was occasional misogyny there or by trying to show how silly the men's threads would be (page 9, yet some of those thread ideas are good....I see nothing silly about discussing manscaping and shaving creams).

The point she's missing though, that men here don't represent the typical men who ruled the world, they are men with autism/AS/other disorder and personality disorders. Those have been subtly suppressed and ridiculed probably since the dawn of civilization, and they have their own issues with the the rest of the male population.

I support a men's forum. It's only fair.

I would come join your off-WP forum, but I wouldn't want to overwhelm you with the awesomeness that is the fun I bring.

That's what The Bar is for. Maybe you can be the first one to post a thread in that section. ;)

Yep, thats a very typical belief she has. It doesn't matter what she thinks though. Only the mods could change Alex's mind. Hopefully your men's forum could help.

Shared by scholars and activists. Gawd, how mainstream am I? I'm going to go shop at Hot Topic and Old Navy now. But it doesn't matter what I think... *curls hair with finger and thinks about shoes*

I thought only Alex could change Alex's mind. I suppose there's a possibility that the moderators sneak into his house at night and program him through audio stimulation while he sleeps so he does their bidding. I don't know all how the structure of the forum works.

I think it just took the pressure off Alex to deal with it.

Alex isn't a dictator who never listen to reason and others' opinions. The only problem with Alex is his lack of activity on WP, nothing more.

A real story: Alex has put a veto on unbanning me before, but he was later convinced by a mod to bring me back.

Moral of this real story: Everything is possible, wefunction. ;)

:? Shared by femminists, and a lot of women on this site. And jeesh, why are you so paranoid about being seen as some ditzy female? I meant it doesn't mean what you or I think, it only matters what the owner of the site does.

 He can, be he probably knows there'd be backlash from femminactivists. The mods convinced him to make a silly gblt forum, so, i'm sure they could ask him to make a men's.

As if this wasn't enough to tickle, you had to say,

Quote:
silly gblt forum

which pretty much says all that needs to be said about the motivations of your opinion.

I have joined to help boost your numbers, but since it's a male forum I am not sure if there will be much I can participate in.
