Dos'nt look like J will be going 2 the school we had hoped because J's intelligence is 2 high 4 the school. J scores about 70 in the test and 2 get into this new school he needs 2 score 50 or under. I'm so so :x . We have got j's IEP coming up on the 23 march and j's psychologist is coming 2 this one not that i think it will do any good :( .

Aspen: i explained 2 2 of J's bully's about J's as they said they had been getting into trouble for bullying j & promised not to bully j. We'll c.

I'm sorry J will not be allowed to attend the school you want.

I hope talking to the kids will help and they don't bully J anymore.

Hello :D

I think the teachers r starting 2 understand about J's needs finally. I had a long chat with J's special ed teacher recently, bombarding her with ?'s & in the end i said i was looking into home schooling J if i can't get j into a different school, also that j's psychologist is attending J's IEP soon.

Since the chat J has been allowed 2 work in a corridoor just outside his class room (J can still c everyone and hear them, not just as much). J has been working brilliant in the corridoor and altho he still has 2 join his class 4 a few lesson's a day , he does'nt mind this as long as he dos'nt have 2 work with a partner ( in which case he will play up). At the moment J is happy so r the teacher's & so r we. We will keep pushing 4 J 2 get better help but 4 now things r great at the mo 8)

I’m sorry your having to deal with that. Is he seeing a pysch that is familiar with aspies? Perhaps they could help weed out the source of it and give you a game plan to help wean him off of it. Does he like goals and or working toward stuff? My son hates chores and this is how we got him to actually do some, he works toward something he really wants by doing what he needs to around the house. (it isn’t 100% obviously, but I’ll take 50% over nothing) Maybe you could find something like that to try?

Im wondering about the corrals? The office thing? How old is your child? What grade is he in? I think my son would do just about anything to avoid having one of those in the 5th grade.

I'm aspie so maybe missing something here. Why doesn't the school let him learn as he wants? A) it will work out better, B) It is a lot cheaper, C) Less hastle too

I went to very crowded school in downtown Milwaukee. There were lots of kids of all sorts and grades in my special classes. Since the teachers had no time for me they let me sit in the cloak room or under a table with a cloth draped over it and ignored me unless I asked for something. Normally they would get me books or experimental materials and answer questions. I did the rest with extra stim time as a reward (getting to go into the cloak room and spin or roll, etc).

By the way this is apparently called Montisorri method teaching. And it worked great. One last thought are the uniforms uncorfortable, binding, or itchy? - that would make me act up alot and kill concentration.
