please remember that if you're blocking the ads, you're taking away money that would support Wrong Planet. While some ads can be annoying, it would be more annoying if we ran out of funds for WP and the site stopped working

How does advertising like that work :?: Does WP only get money by having people buy & sign up for things off those sites cuz I am NOT doing that anyways so those companies are NOT losing out of any money by having me block their ads. Does WP get money by having people click on em or by simply showing ads to us. I clicked on that ad quite a lot the last couple days

WP gets money whenever an ad is clicked.

How much mony does Wrong Planet get each time an add is clicked?

Not much, about $1 I think. It adds up though (adds up, get it? :P ).

But then what happens if someone clicks on an add 5,000 times in one day just to give Wrong Planet more money? Does Wrong Planet just get $5K or is there some "anti-overclick" mechanism?

They can tell when that happens and they take action against it.

How? Is it an automated process?

I think they compare clicks per minute with visits and IP addresses. That's a guess, anyway. It's certainly automated, though, yeah.

How many clicks does it take before further clicks are ignored? And does it discard ALL your clicks if it detects you are taking advantage of the system or just the ones after the maximum amount?

I have absolutely no idea. I think if they detect you doing it, they cut off the AdSense account.

Can you post the link to the donation page :?: I'll make a small donation instead of unblocking those adds
