Aspie here and I always get what we usually get. Sometimes I will grab something that we don't usually get. Sometimes I see something on sale so I want to get it or sometimes I might feel like having a treat. My husband does the same thing too, sometimes grabs something random off the shelf or decides to get a dessert.

I love treats especially ice cream.

I wish your SO came on here and posted his thoughts.

By the way, when there is a lot of people in the store I become very ansy and combatitive. I can come across as an a**hole. I don't mean to. I just become anxious. I'm working on it.

i will ask him to check in on this thread =)

what you describe is the same anxiety my SO gets at the store. he was only diagnosed this year tho. for the first decade we were together, he would get angry and aggressive at the store, but he didnt know why, so he blamed it on me taking too long. we laugh about it now, and we handle it much better, but it did cause a lot of strife before we knew what was going on.

Don't pressure him to much to come on here. One thing I do is I just keep some musical beat in my head. I feel that same anxiety when I drive sometimes. This may seem weird to you but sometimes when I drive I can almost break my environment down to 0-dimensional points and I feel like these points are going to hit me everywhere including my eyes. Music helps me with this as well.
