University - did anyone struggle in their first term?

Are you kidding me, yes. I struggled with school and social. The social life was so confusing for me, I was glad I had a really good friend with me who was practically my lifeline. He was pretty much the reason why I even had a social life. The school work was a killer too. With a combination of so much change, overwhelming demands, a complex social life and pretty much crashed and ended up hospitalized. I had only been diagnosed with Aspergers the previous year. I learned to cope later on.

If stoners have their heads screwed on, in terms of a social scene that tends to be a pretty laid back and accepting niche whether you get high or not.

I dunno, I got high a lot before I went to college.

My grades weren't as good in college as they were in high school, but end to end in college there wasn't much difference. I got a 3.13 my first term and ended up with a 3.17 when I graduated.

Yes.
I had panic attacks every day for the first term - missed loads of lectures and didn't make any friends. There were so many new people and new things to learn, it was too big a change. I didn't know I had Aspergers then, and had gone to a university at the other end of the country. It was soo hard, I wanted to drop out. But I survived it and was able to live and study in Japan for my second year, which was a dream come true and made much easier by learning to live independently in my first year.
