Aspie in family was born in November but autstic was born in May so it doesn't really fit for me. If there is a significant rise of ASD kids born at one time of year it probably won't be caused directly by the time of year. It would mostly likely be affected by factors that are greater present during their gestation. For example, statistitians have shown there is a rise in ice cream sales when there is a rise in violent crime. One doesn't cause the other (no ones out there robbing choc ices I hope) but both are affected by a completely different factor-hot weather. So we do have to be careful about what we infere.

Im not one who believes in astrology but I know the statistics have shownthat strange proportions of birth of people with Schizophrenia in warmer months. I'd also like to know, along with births, is there any siginificant difference in handedness (right-handed or left-handed, I don't know the correct term) in aspie or autistic people?? It only antedoctal but it could be interesting as well as birth days. In my family on my aspie brother is a leftie and my sis is ambidexterous. Its the same with fair few of their friends. Has anyone else noiced this??

I was born in June, but I was 6 weeks early. Does that count for anything?

If it does, it would point toward conception month as opposed to birth month. And I am suspecting old sperm, i.e., impregnation after a relatively long time without an ejaculation, rather than anything seasonal. This would make a strong correlation with springtime conception, but would not rule out other cases, like the birth of a sibling shortly before the conception of the ASD child. I am an Irish twin, nearly an Irish triplet, conceived less than 2 mos. after my older brother. My sister was conceived about 3 mos. after my birth, born 1 yr. and 4 days later. Maybe I was conceived on the first romp, but not so my sister. I don't know .
Also, recent release from prison, return from a long business trip, reconciliation after separation, etc.

I hope a scientist notices and directs a study.

I was "made" near valentines day and born in November.

I was born in May, a month early.
Meaning that I was conceived September, October.

Statistically speaking it's more likely for ANYONE to be conceived in the winter than in any other time of year. As the majority of people on earth live in the northern hemisphere, this trend explains why July, August, September and November have the highest birth rates of all months. As the weather gets cold, people get to makin babies. I don't know if you took this -erm- 'cuddle factor' into consideration before forming your hypothesis, but I recommend an NT control group birth month sampling as well.

That said, I was born in February, statistically the least likely month of the year in which to be born (I am assuming because it is missing some days, and May is hot).

Born in July.

I was conceived sometime around mid-October and born in July.
