Well, in country I live, the anti-intellectualism is only an issue among the older working class people due to the nature of previous communist regime that perceived intelectuals as people who can actually think for themselves and are therefore threat to socialism
. But today the anti-intellectualism seems not to be an issue. Even at primary school, I got teased and bullied a lot, but never because of my intellect; quite the opposite, although I was usually excluded from any class activities because I was uncool and weird, whenever there was some school competition in any logical subject (games such as chess, checkers or expanded version of tic-tac-toe, mathematics), I got almost always unanimously chosen by my class to represent them.....
