Tequila, if i wanted to lie about sending a PM, i would have been careful to edit it properly first because there was a glaring error in it. i posted it up in the moderator forum when it was sent. i can give you the information later when i am close to a computer, if you like.

Thank you for updating your post, Tally, the new one is really well thought out, and I can tell a lot of work went into it.

hyperlexian claimed I received a PM and then deleted it. I received no such PM in the first place so I couldn't delete a PM I had never received. I received a message from TallyMan that said that I should check her closing response in the thread, but not any from hyperlexian.

More lies as per usual. One mod here clearly doesn't like people disagreeing with her.

Hyperlexian has also deleted posts of my mine without any notification in the past.
I know it was her because she was the only mod browsing the thread at the time it vanished.

Tallyman, I am a bit confused here, have the mods gotten together and agreed that your post is a good way forward, or did you do that all on your own?

If a moderator consensus was reached then wrongplanet have a problem with a single mod stepping out of line and it just so happens to be the same mod that was causing all the problems in the first place.

If it was your own decision to clarify the rules relating to PPR, I don't think anyone has an issue with how you personally are moderating, all the problems are arising from the behaviour of a different moderator and how she thinks it is acceptable to bully people that disagree with her.

actually, you are assuming it was me, which is different from knowing it. and it is also different from removing a whole thread. members are usually informed when a whole thread is removed, but not always when posts are removed.

Nope you were the only mod showing as online at the time, you were the only mod in PPR at the time, you removed the post immediately after I posted it and you were the only mod showing as browsing the thread.

A bit like now, I posted at 8:15 and you leapt on the thread immediately and replied by 8:18.

The only options are it was you or there was another mod deliberately browsing the site in invisible mode deleting people's posts to make you look bad.

Which of these two scenarios sound more likely to you?

you're still assuming it. sometimes when i am in a subforum (even posting) i don't show up as browsing, yet at other times i am afk and show up at the top.

the most likely option is that it could have been me - or another moderator who was not showing at the top of the forum (often, members and moderators don't). now you know. :)

it doesn't make a moderator look bad to be removing posts. it is our job, after all. 8O

EDIT: i should add, it's no different from me assuming that Tequila deleted the PM i sent. honestly, it wasn't really fair for me to assume it was deleted when it could have disappeared for another reason (PMs put into the savebox also disappear when they are unopened), or something else could have happened. i've had a few members delete them unopened, and a few others who just never open them at all, so it's not at all unusual. but it wasn't correct of me to draw a conclusion about what happened to it in this case based on limited information.

There are a limited number of mods with the ability to delete posts or threads.
Anyone else volunteering to step forward and claim responsibility?
Tallyman, puddingmouse did you delete one of my posts without going through the common courtesy of explaining your actions?
Did you do this while Hyperlexian just happened to be browsing the thread and your account was in hidden mode?

Let me guess, there will be no takers...

Come on guys, enough is enough. Hyperlexian does an excellent job moderating and she has the support of the other moderators and the vast majority of the membership. Nobody is going to agree with every moderating decision we make, it is a fact of life. The key thing is that we (the moderators) play a significant role in keeping the forums civil and welcoming to the membership. Don't forget that this is a support site; not a cage fighting ring. Let's all move forward. Enough of the blood letting.
