Employment testing vs. ASD
I'd never want to work at Sears. I read about them online and was told about them by a real life friend that worked there. She told me that they expect you to get lots of people to apply for their credit card and if you don't they cut your hours and don't tell you why.
I think I'd have a really hard time working in any cashier position but it would make it even worse being made to try to promote things like credit cards or those loyalty cards that a lot of stores have now. Most customers probably already have them or don't want them.
Well, based on my experience with having worked at Macy's, this is part of the problem with the credit cards - the corporate offices would assign each store a "goal amount" of new credit cards to get each month, and for every one which the store missed, there was a $100 fine. (For example......say the store had 800 cards as a goal, and only got 700 new sign-ups, we had to pay $10,000)
The only time I had to do one of those type of interviews that I can remember well that required a personality test was when my whole family was sitting around me as I did that test on the computer at home. They helped me fill it out and do the IQ portion. I mean, really? That is not going to be part of the job for too long.
FYI, I passed that test. And I passed the interview with the placement firm. And I handed in a good idea for a day of fun that was planned, along with the poster/ad that I mock designed. All good. Then, I did a two hour interview that I did not pass. The reason? You were part time employed for two years following your degree. There must be a reason why no one hired you fulltime so far.
(and here is me thinking, yeah, you little so and so, there is a reason: a RECESSION)
