A mod has deleted threads seemingly based on personal preference and I asked why a certain thread was deleted in the absence of rule violations and they lectured me on what was right or wrong to say on wp, with the idea that some opinions were not supportive enough. It is understandable to me that posters might not trust mods.

it is hard to be a mod, to please everyone and not to step on people's toes at times. I'm not sure to what mod you're referring to, but the fact that so many are resigning says enough how hard it is to mod around here. Whoever it was, I'm sure he had best interest in mind, and was not anything personal.

Probably what happened was what others said, someone must have used the quote tags wrong in their post and it made it look like you said something that you didn't.

But just to be on the safe side, make sure you do a virus scan on your computer. I had some malware pop up suddenly on mine yesterday morning, and I had to run a boot-time scan to remove it, which is really unusual for me. Seems like there is a lot of weird stuff going around on the internet this week.

I'm not sure why you're blaming the mods, especially since Boo is trying his best to help.

I've misquoted someone like that before. Maybe he [kraftiekortie] remembers.

Sometimes, if I want to quote someone who's already been quoted, I'm too lazy to find the original quote, so I just quote that post and try to delete the other person's quote.

That's how you accidentally misquote. Maybe that's what happened. Though, you didn't seem to have recognized the quote at all, which means you probably weren't the one responding to it. Maybe someone was responding to several people at once, and mixed up the name? Quotes are confusing to put together.

The mods on this site probably make 1/10th the number of mistakes compared to mods on any other site so I don't think it's fair to criticize them. Keep in mind they are constantly battling spam and dealing with issues that you won't see unless you're a moderator.

Also we just switched forum software so everyone is getting used to the new system. The moderator functions have changed and become more complicated with this upgrade.
