Good sense of hearing

I can't HELP eavesdropping on people - it's annoying at work because the people there are all jabberjaws.

My hearing is okay, but due to an ear drum bursting and extreme metal blasting out from my CD player, it will suffer.

I hear this sometimes, as well.



Same, my computer sounds like a monstrous beast. I can hear it all throughout the apartment. It's not a continuous sound, either, it's like a rising and falling. One piece of electrical equipment I can't stand is the X-Box.



Me too. Sometimes I understand ok, sometimes I don't understand them at all. Other times it's like a "delayed processing" or something, where I hear it, and it sounds (as someone else said on here) like their mouth is "full of mashed potatoes," but a few seconds after, it makes sense.

I have a tendency to say "what?" or repeat back to people what they've said, to be sure I've gotten it right. I imagine it gets annoying.



Me too! There are few things I hate more, actually. I can't help but cringe away when someone does this to me. It's an involuntary response.



Me too. I hear my roommate's conversations with his friends out in the lounge in our apartment more than I'd like to.

I also cannot help eavesdropping on people. As I walk around, suddenly I bhear something and question about it only to get told off!

I have a good sence in over hearing people's conversations. Noise or earwax has given me very minor hearing loss but that still doesn't stop me from hearing people talk quietly about stuff in the room I am in or in other rooms.

I can't help but eavesdrop on people. Here in the dorms, I hear someone talking and my ears can't help but be drawn to the conversation going on.

My parents also. I would be in my room and I could hear my parents in the kitchen talking about me.

face it, the kid is worthless, he sits around in his room all day shut out to the world around and he can't do anything for his own good. He'll probably never have a job also - but I'll be damed if he's going to ride on my back for the rest of his life.

That's half the reason I'm looking forward to 720p and 1080i hi-def video, with horizontal scan rates of 45khz and 33.75khz respectivally. Hopefully that'll be outside my range of hearing.

I find my hearing is good. The high pitches
are clear. I especially hate it when I was
on the front desk and people talked on the
payphone in front of the building and I couldn't
think.

This is why I liked the melotrone 68'-72'
music period of the moody blues. I hear
and follow it's high and low pitches were
others wouldn't catch them. The album
"Our Children's Children" is both depressing,
and ALL MELETRONE. I zone because of it.

Remeber in a earlier post I wrote that I said
that I was eating lunch, and some late 60's
melody was playing, and the phrase "Getting
to know you" and then those strings of a
melotrone kicked in and I was zoning. Well
this is just a taste of it's effectiveness to ones
deep hearing.

So, yes! I am sensitive in my hearing, and
that is good.

P.S...It also allows me to catch problem
sounds in computers I am examining.

I hear high pitches quite well and I can hear people speaking in the kitchen from my room.

That's really sad...

I hate hearing people talk about me when I'm not supposed to...

In answer to your questions when this post was first started, Autistics usually have hypo- or hyper-sensitive senses. Its a common thing for all of us.

Same here, I actually got so tired of being afraid of sudden loud noises. I instituted a kind of crash-course cure for it. Listened to alot of loud music, and watched horror films..to lessen my hearing sensitivity. So it's kind of funny when people are like, you'll loose your hearing. Well what if you were hearing too much?

That is sad. However, John Krufalsi of Ren & Stimpy fame, made a career off of his mean dad. So I guess you can always turn something bad into something good. I belive he said, that Ren is based on his dad, and so is George American.

It seems as those (who are also hypersensitive to noises as well) just plain have better hearing. Being sensitive and being able to hear a few decibels more to cringe at a dog whistle I would think two very different things. imo of course.

My hearing will suffer.
