Technically, the only way for Fox to hold on to the rights for Fantastic 4 is if they produce a sequel which they were planning on doing before said sequel was recently removed from Fox's future release schedule. Therefore, without production on a sequel, the film rights automatically revert back to Marvel Studios, whether Fox likes it or not.

Yes. I actually liked how they did Aang's Avatar State. I would have their names be said like how they said it in the cartoon. Sokka would be his comedic self. Appa and Momo were awesome as they were. Zuko would have his correct hairstyle. His grandfather wouldn't be a tall slim man. The bending/karate dance style would need to be changed. We'd have to find new actors for everyone--cuz the previous ones are too old now.

What I didn't understand about Shammy's version... he HAD the creators on set. And all the changes he made...they were ok with it?? I'd like to think they weren't, but I think I read before that they were ok with it. And that just confuses me.

I thought Noah Ringer was good. If you saw the behind the scenes reel with him...he was acting just like the cartoon counterpart--all goofy and prankstery. But when Shammy yelled 'action', he had to drop all that and act serious.

Eragon. Even as a kid I was deeply disappointed by the way they handled it. Considering the book series is essentially a blatant rip-off of LOTR and Star Wars, and considering how big Star Wars and Game of Thrones are right now, not to mention how it has become standard procedure to split up books into multiple parts, this the right time to do it, and I believe that if done properly the 'Inheritance Cycle' could quite possibly be the next LOTR (as opposed to the Hobbit which tried and failed to do this). The story is unoriginal, however it does feature a large cast of likeable characters as well as a unique, realistic magic system. Also, I am amazed that in 2016 we are still yet to see a major franchise centred around dragons, that makes no sense to me.

Interesting idea.

There's a sequel to it called [b]The Fall of a Nation[/b], which is considered the first movie sequel.

I'd love to see a remake of Peckinpah's classic about over the hill outlaws at the tail end of the Old West, when they try to pull off the big score, and things just spiral downward. The original picture was bloody and violent by today's standards, so just imagine what someone like Quentin Tarantino could do with it.

Aw, c'mon. Waterworld is pretty sweet. Anyway:

Doom. First mistake was basing the movie on Doom 3, easily the worst game in the series. Second was to change the monsters from hellish demons to genetic experiments gone wrong. Third mistake was hiring a bunch of hacks to write and direct it. Uwe Boll would have been a better choice; at least his bad video game movies are amusing in their badness. Doom was just depressing and boring. They can bring back Karl Urban and The Rock, but everything else needs to be redone from the ground up.

Hellraiser.

But just if it's with Clive Barker and Doug Bradley.

I wouldn't mind watching another film remake directed by the Coen Brothers, given that they have two remakes in their filmography.

{I'm not a huge fan of Westerns, but IMO, this was of the best remakes I've ever watched.}

@ Raptor: I totally get what you're saying----I'm a huge, HUGE fan of Sergeant York----but, today's Hollywood would mess-it-up, so badly, I'm afraid.

I'd like to see Guilty Conscience modernized----but, again, they'd only mess-it-up.

/\ Oh, I know----I understand that part----I just thought that another thing you were saying (without really saying it) was that you were also a fan of those films.

Death Bed; the Bed that Eats It had a lot of flaws with the way it was filmed which caused some to consider it the worst movie ever. It's a cult classic that I like because of the flaws but I think others would like it if the flaws were ironed out.

On Stranger Tides (by Tim Powers). They made it into a Pirates of the Caribbean movie and GOD was it awful. Go back to the Tim Powers book and you will read a fantastic, weird, incredibly creative book. Powers' specialty is to take historic events and characters, and look at real, unexplained events and come up with some really bizarre, cool explanations for them. He does these "behind the scenes" type histories and has done three for the Romantic poets (Stress of Her Regard, Hide Me Among the Graves, Anubis Gates), Thomas Edison (Earthquake Weather), and Kim Philby (Declare).

In On Stranger Tides, Powers takes the true event in which the pirate Blackbeard took the port town of Charlestown, SC hostage for...a box of herbs and tobacco. Powers' explanation is that Blackbeard needed magic herbs because he was a voodoo master that got contaminated with ghosts while searching for the Fountain of Youth, and the herbs were needed to get rid of the ghosts. SO COOL. There are a lot of scenes that would have looked really good on film, like a haunted swamp.
