what little shrinky things?

i have enormous self control. this isn't necessarily healthy, all the time, and it comes out as excema, when i suppress emotional horrors. i remember being like this even as a child. but then i have a will of tungsten, too.

and i LOATHE it when i have PMS - hormones going potty, and meaning you really are out of control, and there's nothing you can do about it. and they call them "mood swings"... grrrr.

It's more like Don't-Cross-My-Path-Or-You're-Dead-Meat swings. Stupid estrogen.

Taking anti-epileptic pills makes things calmer regarding control, although I'd rather not have to take them at all.

Total control of my temper has changed from a form of self-defence to a habit, acquired from school.

I shy away from confrontations automatically unless cornered, in which case I totally explode.

I vented for a while by writing (poetry, it was awful) and watching my Robot Wars videos for yet another time.

self control makes me seem a lot more NT than I am.

It is good, to a point, but there are times when I would like to turn it off and unwind.

I have difficulty controlling movement in general. Emotion makes it more so, whether positive or negative emotion, and whether positive or negative movements.

Hmmm... I wanted to write about self control, but realized that it would sound somewhat out of place with the recent posts. Would anyone object if I split off posts starting with Shrinky Dinks, to restore the thread to its original topic?

Done! Posts unrelated to the topic of self-control, including the explanation of Shrinky Dinks, are now here: http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... pic&t=3208

About two months ago, I got to a point where the facade was starting to become me so I just turned off the act and walked away. I'm not working and I'm going to computer school at the moment so it's socially acceptable to act AS 24/7. :D

Lucky!

I feel lucky, too. I am also "not working" (haha  ) -- I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom who spends each week interacting with a wide variety of textbooks, my own 5 kids, a couple of nerdy librarians, and a collection of other quirky homeschool moms and kids.

Another beautiful situation where it is socially acceptable to be AS 24/7.
