Anyone starting to feel unmotivated in school?

In school, I did feel that the system, at times, was designed to keep the teachers employed vs promote any sort of quest for truth (the ideal of truth). Many courses were wrapped up in details, never displaying the big picture. There also was a kind of question as to how the school linked to the real world of work other than providing a kind of certificate (degree/identification card) which then was accepted as a kind of automatic pass to the world of work.

At some point I did accept the idea that the system would not change and that the system didn't care whether it taught students outdated material or material which could never be used in the world of work at all.

Intellectually, I did begin to understand a little what was meant by the term - ivory tower - and the educational games which could be played by the system as a whole to keep the professors employed.

I also began to ask myself why were textbooks so expensive vs books which could be purchased in bookstores and I began to realize that textbooks were part of the business system of education. I also became aware that bookstores at universities screened their books carefully so as to shape their students' education; many books which were available at local bookstores were intentionally banned at school bookstores, again so the school could shape the students' minds in one direction (mass production) and not in others.

I would've graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA but then decided to fail two of my classes while also refusing to turn in a required assignment until 30 days came by.

My GPA dropped to a 3.4 afterward but I really think it was worth it.

I became much more sophisticated and more talkative during my Senior year. Girls started digging me once I spoke out more. I made people laugh and the teachers all loved me. I even landed the second leading role in one of the One Act plays to which random people (students and adults) complimented me.

Quite frankly, it was the best year of high school. While I could've done a better job with grades, I really stepped out of my comfort zone which motivated me to harness my asperger's into a positive thing rather than a negative one.

I don't understand how people can even stand high school. It's probably the most agonizing experience I've ever had. It was like a prison, only with less privacy.

I'm usually motivated in school the first month or so before realizing the class is bs and then I lose focus. Then my grades dip until the last month where I can pull off a B or a C because worse than losing interest in a class is having to repeat it.

It would help if we actually did something worthwhile or interesting in class to keep motivation up.

I used to be motivated but taking an 18-credit-hour semester with six classes in 2008 and getting mediocre grades afterwards pretty much pounded the spirit right out of me. I have graduated with an AA and continued school since then, but I haven't really gotten anything from going to school afterwards.

In a place where I should be feeling inspiration and advancement, all I feel is stress, disappointment, and despair.
