as for ahayes and others above (though I'm in an older bracket) - I scored 9 and also need to see a psychaitrist because of a mood disorder (well, I saw her yesterday, and the result - the CBT continues).

The points system is odd something out of 24 though the "top" score is 42; some can score a minus amount; it's a little odd.

I usually score high on A S tests; the only time I didn't was a very low score for empathy - which the test deemed bad (to me, it simply meant, yes, A S).

Your Score Is 27 of a possible score of 24

The average score for men in the age range under 30 is 14.
Other people in your age group scored between 0 and 42.

You (or a loved one) are showing both psychotic and mood disorder symptoms of a serious nature. You should seek a professional consultation with a psychiatrist as soon as possible.

I have trouble with a few of the questions on the test:

"Do you or a loved one hear voices that seem to come from somewhere outside of you?"

Yes, all the time... whenever someone is talking. Right now I am hearing voices from my computer (which is outside of me), since I am playing music (VNV Nation's "Saviour" right now). Or does the question assume "other than that which can be explained by someone talking or the TV, radio, or music"? :D

"Do you or a loved one see things around you that no one else can see?"

Well, right now I can see things no one else can, but that's because I am the only person here.

I scored 5 out of 24, yet it recommends I seek professional help... I find that a little odd. Expecially since it also said "The average score for men in the age range 40-49 is 12." (I'm 44.) So I jacked up my answers to get a score of 12 (the average) and it said:

"You (or a loved one) are showing signs of a mood disorder which requires professional evaluation. You should schedule an appointment with psychiatrist as soon as possible. "

The average person shows signs of a mood disorder that requires professional evaluation??? You'v got to be kidding me.

So then I swore, went back, changed my age, and got this instead.

That's odd... Apparently I'm not schizoaffectively disordered enough, with a score of only 7 while the average for my "peers" is 12, and this too is a mood disorder for which I should see a psychiatrist!

It could be that the average is based on people who took the test, skewed in favour of people who suspect they are schizoaffectively disordered?

Or, the test writer is incompetent.

What do you all get on this fella? 37 here; my "classical autism" must overlap with symptoms of schizophrenia....

"You scored a total of 13

You answered this schizophrenia screening quiz in such a way as to suggest that you may be exhibiting some early symptoms commonly associated with schizophrenia or a schizophrenia-related disorder. Your responses are similar to others who possibly may be experiencing some early signs of schizophrenia or a schizophrenia-related disorder."

"You scored a total of 4"

There's a rather silly question on that test:

"2. When I'm by myself, I hear or see things that others do not hear or see."

Obviously when you're by yourself, there are no others who can hear or see the same things you do..?
