It took a while to remember the title, but this is the first science-fiction book I ever read about robots:
The Runaway Robot
by Lester del Rey
1st published 1965
"We're returning to earth," Paul's father tells him. Paul is wildly excited, for all human beings on the planet Ganymede dream of going back to Earth some day. Then Paul finds out that he cannot take his robot Rex with him. Rex has been his constant companion for sixteen years. Leave him behind? Never!
So begins a series of breathtaking adventures in space as Paul and his robot Rex attempt to outwit the forces that seek to separate them.
I remember thinking, "How could they be so mean to Rex? He just wants to be with his family."
Totally sympathize With Paul about Rex ..
Sometime in the last few years , a movie called La Machina , were the female bot . Eventually seemed to reach an awareness . Living in this offgrid type , ubertech .pillbox / bunker styled . In which where ever her developer , owner
Would just leave her there and go about his day . Day after day , And ever so slowly . Her dissatifaction grew . Being locked in constantly . Then one day , she turned the table and left him locked in , Never to return .
Then of course , I Robot . With Will Smith . The Bots almost took over the city.
But of course one bot with more humanity in him saved the day.
Could easily see, rooting for the bots .
