How Can I Cope With This Lifestyle?

Me too. I guess the thing is to expect and accept the worst, and then try for something better with the have nothing to lose attitude.

In my country that doesn't exist. So if you can't make it on your own or have family to help you, you'll become poor. I'm done living off my parents and under their roof but that's the only choice for now. I tried getting retail jobs and never was able to get one since I'm awful at treating people. I'm a fashion designer working mainly from home for a company. No benefits, very low income. I barely get to do what I love because I also have other responsibilities I don't enjoy there. I've always put off starting my own brand mainly out of fear of failure but also because of inexperience. I wanted to learn first, but I'd never got a job I really wanted because I wasn't informative enough or got too uncomfortable at interviews. Last year I decided to start. It hasn't take off yet but I'm in the works of finally making it happen. Lately I've felt stuck and not having economic stability can really mess with you. I used to tell people that they needed to go with they're gut. I still feel that way, but sometimes you do need to approach what you really want to do but from an easier way to get income point.
Not sure how possible it is in your case, but maybe approach a position in filmmaking that can provide you a steady income first, so that you can become financially independent but also be immersed in the industry you love. Then you can get into actually filmmaking. It'll take longer and I might be wrong, but that's how I would do it now. Get a career that works in the fashion or beauty industry so I'm immersed in it and then make the move to design. Even if it envolved studying again, at least I would have the means to do it on my own.
