But I thought Christians believe that humans cannot become angels or demons? That's what they have all told me.

"Like" the angels, in that you'll be praising god for all eternity and little else.

I’m not a big Bible student. I went to Sunday school and church camps in the summer, but didn’t have much formal attendance in my twenties to fifties. So a lot of my thoughts on God and Heaven are things I figured out on my own. I’ve read the Bible several times and different books about it. My church going was a mix of Gospel and Anglican (Church of England/ Episcopal).

I don’t see us wandering around Heaven praising God. I don’t think He would like that anyway. I’m looking forward to meeting some “great minds” of history. People from all over the world, from all ages. I have no back up to those thoughts though!

I hate to say it, as I love my husband and want to stay his wife, but Fnord has rightly quoted the Bible about marriage in Heaven. I’m sure God has a work-around! :D

I think I would stay on this earth as a ghost. I'd be too confused about where to go as a spirit and too afraid of not knowing what really awaits on the other side.

I'd be like a scared little kid hiding in a dark hole not wanting to accept the fact that he was now dead.

Why should that make Sly or the rest of us any better? :(

I guess there isn't room for empathy in discussing bible scripture, for certain people.

Why do so many Christians believe so emphatically that Heaven won't have the romantic relationships similar to down here on earth?

Some people are just hurting. If I'm honest with it, that teaching makes me very sick.

Angels are called "ministering spirits" in Hebrews 1:14 who are "sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation." In other words, at least one way human life will be different in heaven is that our lives will be completely focused on worship and service of God.

Oops, I credited a post to the wrong person! Sorry.

I don’t like the no getting married in Heaven passage either. Perhaps its a translation issue or contextual subject. If it literally means no marriage, it might mean only that and not preclude romantic love and partnerships. Im not a scholar, but Christ is supposed to be loving and to soothe our hurts I believe. I don’t want to get preachy as I don’t know enough. I don’t think that there will be animosity, meanness or loneliness there. I think that there will be relationships there, some platonic and others partnerships.

Being “sent out to serve” others might not be so bad. I would think that we would have good communication skills at that point and find it enjoyable! More personal supposition, but I don’t see everybody in white with wings and halos. I don’t know what to expect, but I think there will be joy and happiness. There better be as its supposed to be eternal. :!:

No way
This world is made fr a certain type of person and esp this society which is really pushy, harsh, superficial and is all about faking and lying and being strong or ‘dealing with it’- not everyone is able so I just tell myself Im an evolutionary blip in terms of this world

Then in heaven that’s where everything will make sense and everythinb that was lacking n wrong with us n others will be fixed

n ppl will stop being like that (mean) so everything will be peaceful n harmonious so of course u wd be completely safe and happy n content and not feeling hated or weird

That’s my opinion

If death is truly death we will not feel nothing we will be nothing our last feeling will be of dying.

All people find it hard to wrap their mind around that one but in death we will be the same state like before we were concieved
noting zip nill.

If the above is what really happens we will never find out there is no afterlife so this is really not a bad option and if all the people who have died are truly gone at least we won't miss them anymore we just won't exist does not and we will never know it either does not sound too bad.

On the other hand if there is an afterlife and Hell this sounds many times worse than everybody just being dead.
If there is noting we will never know and we will not be disappointed. :)

Heaven is heaven, meaning everything will be perfect. There's no unhappiness in heaven.

But, really, once you're dead you're dead, you won't be conscious to experience another life in clouds.
