Some choose to take it up a level.
Personally, I think that makes them look a bit sad, that they have to go to that extent to get a reaction.
Empty life, much?

RALEIGH! I'm so happy to see you posting again. I was afraid you had left us.

TW1ZTY: (dang, that is hard to type) - when I saw the title of your thread, I actually laughed.

Of course there are some malignant personalities here. Duh!

No.
I must do it some day but not now - I need more obvious cheering up atm.

I think malignant is too strong of a term. There are and have been people here who I don't/didn't like, but none of them are what I would call malignant or evil or whatever. '

Most people here have a lot of problems that go with being autistic. I have heard many times that some autistic people have a problem with saying things that others consider offensive, without trying to be offensive.

While probably most autistics are capable of empathy some are not.

I myself have a condition called flat effect which means I'm unemotional and apathetic a lot of the time.

So when I come across those who I consider to be offensive or unpleasant etc, I try to consider that might be a result of their autism and whatever other conditions they might have etc.

I also realize there are some people here who don't like me and find me offensive etc. So it goes both ways.

It's more complicated than that. Humans tend to dehumanize "the enemy", and so not only are they utterly despised, but anyone who attempts to sympathize with them is immediately shunned without even being heard out.

A great example of this is the mere suggestion that some of what's going on in the Middle East right now is due to Western interference since the end of WWII. Start making comments like that and you're very quickly branded a terrorist sympathizer.

Screaming out for barbarism shows you're on our side, I guess.

Perhaps those people should learn what blow-back is. Osama Bin Laden was created in the 80's and came back to haunt the US in the 90's. It's not as if the Middle East is the only place on the globe that has been turned upside down by US foreign intervention. Our government is complete garbage and has been for a very long time. Seeing the difference, perhaps, is the distinction between a patriot and a nationalist.

Comparing a few lonely aspie men with Internet connections to Osama bin Laden has to be one of the wildest hyperbolic stretches of the imagination I have ever seen.

Oh, so THAT's why the hyperbole in your first two sentences: you have an America-bashing agenda to express, and you don't care if you stay on-topic or not.

When I see people on an online community making fun of murdered rap stars or saying that a criminal deserves to be tortured to death while denying that it is actually torture I start to question the morality of such a place. I've met some really nice people here and two of them I now consider my close friends, but there's also some members here who's comments I find disturbing. It's not just here either, it's EVERY online community including YouTube and FaceBook.

Have we humans lost our sense of humanity or what? Maybe we never had it to begin with? :|

People are so full of double standards. Just on twitter last week, someone decided to make a hateful post calling innocent people pedophiles and boy did she get a mental beating because people told her how wrong she was and some managed to send her death threats for such a nasty Tweet and she lost lot of her followers as a result. She goes berserk and starts to threaten suicide and did a suicide poll asking how she shall kill herself and she had two guns listed and a noose. But anyway, people who weren't falling for her manipulation and made fun of her and didn't buy her manipulation were all shamed and for voting in her "poll" but yet someone posted about how a drunk driver killed a Nazi on accident and how no humans were harmed and everyone was applauding for the death of a Nazi but yet we were shamed for not caring if this hater killed herself or not because it was all attention seeking behavior she was doing. She had a lot of people on her side despite that she had called them pedophiles. I can suspect all these people were young adults and the ones who didn't buy her manipulation were all older adults. When you're young, you are unaware of peoples motives and they are easier to take advantage of and fall into abusive relationships with older guys which is why people are against older men dating young adults.

Somehow it's okay to to applaud a death of a Nazi but not okay to applaud a death of a bigot. :?

Another thing I have noticed is while people are against child abuse, child abuse becomes okay if the kid is out of control and a sociopath and a Chuckie.

While many people are against rape, rape becomes okay for rapists and other predators and stuff. I mean people are okay with these people getting raped while they are against people being raped.

And also capital punishment, killing is totally wrong but yet it's okay for the state governor and the state judge to sentence someone to death and they have the workers in prison do it. The state governor signs the death warrant and they send it to the prison telling them this person is set to be put to death and time of day and the day of the month.

As bolded, people call that being an apologist and see it as defending them. But yet I notice it's totally okay for someone to sympathize with their abuser because I noticed a victim won't be shunned for showing sympathy about their abuser or predator. Instead we see it as strength. Same as if a parent forgives someone for killing their child and shows sympathy towards the killer. We also called them strong for it.

I'll be frank. I'm not hating on women but it really sickens me the way society tolerates female pedophiles who have sex with underage boys. Like "Stiffler's Mom" from the American Pie movies, or Gabriel screwing her gardener in Desperate Housewives. It's "funny and sexy" when a grown woman does it to a young boy but it's horrible evil rape when a grown man does it to a young girl.

Gotta love double standards. :|

Can't say I blame ya.

It's as if they are all going above and beyond call of duty to ...demonstrate their malignancy right in front of us, right now, and prove your point.

I dunno what to tell you. Like Bea said above, its kinda part of the landscape here that there are individuals who will allow their mean streaks to come out now and again here on this site. And on the web in general.

You just hafta find a way to deal with it.

I really don't find most people to be "mean."

I find some people to be provocative more than "mean."

They like to "pull your chain."

There are, actually, many more decent people here than not-so-decent people.

You know something? I realize now that what it's really about is that I miss my mom very much. She's been gone in Georgia for months and I have been stuck at home by myself in a city where I don't know anybody and I've been obsessing on politics to distract myself from the fact that I am bored, miserable, and very lonely.

You're exactly in the position I want to be LOL.....alone!

I'm sorry you're feeling lonely, though.
