Laissez-faire Capitalism (Almost as bad as Socialism and comes with the same false promises.)

And last but not least

Disposable ballpoint pens!

I agree with a lot of these too, with a few exceptions...

Out of curiosity (not starting an argument), are you against all forms of contraception (including non-hormonal)? We temper with plenty of other settings too...

Yes, I agree with you on Hegel. Hegel sucks, and he kind of invented the world of modern philosophy. Look how THAT's working out for everybody. Unfortunately lots of people in the Haven and the Love & Dating forum think in dialectic. Which is likely a great part of their lack of success.

About the contraceptive question--well, in short, yes. There are a lot of reasons I don't support that, and here is why:

-some contraceptives act as abortifacients. RU-486 is a well-known "morning after pill" that ends up keeping the fertilized egg from implanting. Whether the cell is conscious or not does not matter...I would not go into a hospital and shoot an unconscious coma patient either. If it's human & alive, why interfere with Nature except to heal & protect. It's just wrong.

-other contraceptives (mechanical ones) block sperm from reaching the egg. These are not killing anyone but they defeat the biological purpose of sex. It's like cheating on your spouse but with your spouse. Consent is not the thing here--it's right & wrong.

I am not interested in this subject at all, really. There is a document called Humanae Vitae written in, I think, 1964? Or was it 1967? that covers this. It's not very long and is pretty easy to find on the web. It makes a lot more sense than I could--because it was put together by the pope instead of some permanently angry autistic guy on the internet.

-I mentioned other hormones. Hormone therapy for people with hypothyroidism is a life-saver but there are a lot of people taking them for other reasons and frankly I just don't think science is ready to go dishing it out so freely at this point. But that is probably going to get me banned from W.P.

Thanks man. I'm glad to see the public school meme...absolutely filthy joke, but dolled up in that coffeehouse 2010s style--hilarious. If I didn't already have a rude joke as the wallpaper on my computer, I'd use that one.
