A year ago, I got a prescription for Prozac, filled the prescription, never took it.
Yesterday, VERY bad day, I took one, didn’t call my doctor, just took one.
I want to not take any more; no bad reaction, just don’t want to be ‘on’ a medication I haven’t been prescribed for now.
Any advice?
Please? It is 6 P.M. here, too late to call my doctor.

Don't take anymore, you'll no longer have any in your system within a day or so.

There's nothing else that's needed to be done. If you don't want to take it, don't.

Not partial to pills much but am using more natural supplements , to help with down days .
There no replacement for doing your own research on things that you put in your body. That may affect your state of mind . ...... look up. If any medicine of supplements might have (adverse reactions). Knowing what to look for makes you a informed consumer . Most pharmacists can give you the low down on adverse reactions. But their is no replacement for first hand knowledge and your own research.. just. My very own opinion.

Hi sorry just saw your post. I took Prozac for many years. Prozac has an accumulative effect and takes approx six weeks to fully kick in. One pill will not effect you adversely unless you have a specific allergy to it which is unlikely if not impossible. I found Prozac very useful for many years depression and anxiety which was CPTSD based. I actually went "cold turkey" and stopped suddenly with no adverse effects. I tried Effexor which gave me hallucinations so I stopped taking that also.I now take a natural plant based pill called Calmanervin which is safe, calming, non-addictive and very effective, that contains extract of Passion Fruit. They may not have it in your country. Be well!

I take something similar for relaxation before sleep, though without the valerian root. Just passiflora incarnata extract, sold under the brand name Sedix. Can reccomend. One of few things that work for me.

Most people are taught to absoluteLy trust in their doctors, like your parents and parents before . But Doctors are human and entitled to all the normal drawbacks any human may have . Medicine is constantly changing updating ,
A doctor practically needs a team of experts to stay up to date these days .Or maybe they missed their morning coffee.. And they may not know your body and what you have been through . Or perhaps something you may have forgot to tell him about your medical history. They are. Only humans .
And you are merely a consumer of their services . Doctors are fine for obvious Broken body parts . But the rest of the system is very regulated by the brain and thereby nervous system comes into play and also the realm of the psyche.
So many variableS come into play . Caveat Emptor ( buyer beware) .

Pardon my extra input here .

I don’t drink, nor drink coffee; caffeine.
Thank you so much for your response; I am very nervous about this.

Yeah, I'd stay off the caffeine.
It can amplify your emotions across the board.
I don't take it for this reason.

Had you been taking coffee, tea and chocolate, I would have recommended you stop.
Do you eat a lot of chocolate, btw?
There is a lot of caffeine in that too.
