I think the rest world is pretty much done with "Merica" and for good reason. I'm honestly shocked Trump didn't get a 2nd term, I really am. At least around where I live, people seem to think the guy is the best thing since sliced bread. Then again, they thought that about Bush 43

I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't mean to invalidate your frustrations. A lot of people are fed up with "wokeness" and "cancel culture."

Now I am very left wing, and I guess could be considered a part of this "woke" culture in America. Sometimes, I'll admit, progressives do and say dumb or harmful things. I really don't think you should be policing who is allowed to have dreadlocks for example, or telling people to be "less white". On the other hand, many conservative outlets like to take progressives out of context or cherry pick statements and present an image of the "woke left" that really doesn't match reality. Many times if you follow up on these stories you'll find that the progressives really weren't being that extreme, or that they found a specific progressive who was just nuts and doesn't really represent the wider community.

I'm on the left and I don't want to take away your video games, or cartoons, or potato heads, or whatever. I just might occasionally use my right of free speech to argue that a certain character design is objectifying, or point out the male gaze, or racism, or whatever. Take the Lord of the Rings for example, I think that book has some racist subtext. I still read it, and value the story, but I also criticize it where I think it errs. I certainly don't think that people who like LotR are racist though, and I'm not trying to "cancel" Tolkien. The point is, if you give everyone a mic (Twitter) a lot of people with poorly thought out opinions will get a voice. But in the real world it's still mostly live and let live. Not trying to say you have no reason to be upset, but nobody's out to get you. So long as you're not hurting others, just do what makes you happy.
