It's not fair

I've developed a fascination with old abandoned buildings, and I watch YouTube videos of this guy exploring abandoned buildings around the UK, and it's pretty cool.
But I really want to explore abandoned places myself, but everywhere is "private property"
. In my own town apparently there's an abandoned mental hospital that's been abandoned for decades, but my brother once went there to explore and some twat called the police on them. Who the f**k owns an abandoned mental hospital? They didn't get into trouble, but he was told by relatives that it's embarrassing getting in trouble for visiting abandoned buildings when you're an adult.
But I don't think it's immature at all. Visiting abandoned buildings is exploring, and fascinates lots of people. There's also an abandoned movie theater in my town but I heard it's inhabited by homeless people, and around here homeless people are usually high on drugs and can be violent so I'm a bit reluctant, but I would love to go in there and explore because old movie theaters can be really creepy too.
I hate this day and age; everything's private, there are cameras everywhere and you're always being watched. No freedom, all health and safety.

What kind of weirdo tries to explore an abandoned mental hospital? Is what I was asked while trying to get into an abandoned mental hospital. Which was also supposed to be haunted. Actually when I ran into security driving in I lied and said I got lost.
I watch those kinds of videos too. One time I did find a small group of abandoned houses off the highway. They were completely empty, but there were pages from a newspaper from the 30s on the floor. It was a lot of fun. As I was driving out, some guy was driving in giving me a cross 'what are you doing here?" look. Maybe a guard or caretaker coming back from lunch.
I think there's a number of reasons why it's against the law to go into abandoned houses and buildings. Safety and liability being first. Vandalism and arson being second. There were a couple of pretty old abandoned houses in town, and probably a homeless person got in, started a fire, and burned down part of one. After that they got torn down

Yeah you can get away with a lot as a kid. When I was about 10 there were some abandoned real old apartment or hotel buildings right over the wall from my backyard. Weird area. Lots big fig and grapefruit trees. Lots of black widows in the buildings. One day these two story bungalo buildings were put onto gigantic flatbed trucks and driven away. They built a strip mall there. They were on Ventura Boulevard.
