Thx!

I feel like I’m passed the worst of it and the swelling in my throat is going down and I’m not sweating buckets or sleeping all the time etc so definitely getting better vs worse, but probably gonna be at least another couple days or more of isolation.. 3? 4? Whatever - I can’t risk getting others in the household sick and there’s nothing I NEED to do this week sooo internet/movies etc

Interesting.. never heard of it. But maybe seems a little less than upbeat - not sure I wanna watch a drama like that rn. But I do like Billy Bob Thornton in several movies he’s done.

I’ve seen In Bruges, btw.

Initial D: Legend

There's a dubbed version on YouTube, the subbed versions seem to have been taken down.

^Now that’s a genre I’ve almost never watched.

Last night I ended up watching a 40 min comfy special that someone shared on fb. It was pretty funny - funny enough not to turn it off.

Most of the rest of the time was listening to fb watch news with my eyes closed mostly. I’m quite sick. When I get a throat infection, which is rare - it’s been years - I get very, Very, sick.. like completely incapacitated, sweat buckets all day and night, swollen/sore, can’t talk etc. No fun. Not even coherent enough to watch a movie.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

If I were feeling that bad but wanted to watch something I'm not sure I would care about Action, Adventure, Science Fiction. I think I might prefer Strange...preferably Comedic...and not necessarily particularly good (so you don't feel it necessary to feel bad if you didn't pay close attention!).

Perhaps:
<=>- Allegro non troppo [1976]
<=>- Amazon Women on the Moon [1987]
<=>- American Ultra [2015]
<=>- Big Trouble in Little China [1986]
<=>- Bubba Ho-Tep [2002]
<=>- Bubba the Redneck Werewolf [2014]
<=>- Canadian Bacon [1995]
<=>- Cockneys vs Zombies [2012]
<=>- Cooties [2014]
<=>- The Creature from Lake Michigan [2010]
<=>- Creatures from the Pink Lagoon [2007]
<=>- Everything Everywhere All at Once [2022]
<=>- The Happytime Murders [2018]
<=>- Idiocracy [2006]
<=>- Infestation [2008]
<=>- Juan of the Dead [2011]
<=>- Killer Klowns from Outer Space [1988]
<=>- Kung Pow: Enter the Fist [2002]
<=>- Mars Attacks! [1996]
<=>- Meet the Feebles [1989]
<=>- The Naked Monster [2005]
<=>- Over-sexed Rugsucker from Mars [1988]
<=>- RoboGeisha [2009]
<=>- The Sparks Brothers [2021]
<=>- 30 Nights of Paranormal Activity with the Devil Inside the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo [2013]
<=>- This Is the End [2013]
<=>- Top Secret! [1984]

What's the worst that could happen? You fall asleep?

^I might try to watch everything everywhere all at once if I can find it on the site I watched interstellar on. I've heard of it, but I don't think I'd seen the trailer before now. Only heard that it was some very successful passion project made by a bunch of people who believed in it on a shoestring budget for what they accomplished.

Boyhood
Room

Those are my two favourite movies. You might like them. They're not gory or anything.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is a good choice, some folk think it is pretty good.
It's probably worth staying awake for!

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Seven Psychopaths (not what you think just from the title alone)

Still haven’t attempted a movie. Many short video clips and the longest one I paid attention to was some bail bonds guys searching a house for some guy that skipped court - 38 mins. Was entertaining.

Feeling pretty rough. Taking tons of ibuprofen to deal with the swelling and pain. If this makes a turn for the worse I’ll have no choice but to have to go to a hospital. But if it stays about the same or improves then I can manage.

Shorter than movies: The Red Green Show [1991–2006]

Get well. I'd suggest having someone else drive but I could see where contagion might be a problem.
(Maybe with both parties well-masked and, hopefully, fully-vaccinated.)

I’ve had 3 Covid vaccines, my parents have had 5 or 6 each. The main concern is for my father’s health as his immune system doesn’t really exist anymore due to chemo and radiation. He just had 5 rounds of full brain radiation last week. I’m isolating so I don’t make him sick, so if this will pass without a hospital trip all the better for not exposing either of them.

It’s Possible I could drive myself there if I pulled over a few times to empty my mouth of mucus. If I Have To go to a hospital I’d rather that than expose them. Or maybe go old school and hide out in the box of the truck while someone else drives it.. at least there’s a canopy to block wind and to hide out under. Obviously illegal. Otherwise masks up windows down I guess.

I’d feel like a jerk ordering an Uber or a taxi and exposing someone else to this nasty cold. If I had no other choice I would mask up tight I guess.

I’ve seen red green before. Had a few funny moments back in the day but it’s not really my style of watching. Kinda silly stuff

I guess I like the silliness of The Red Green Show.

The best TV series often have 1-hour episodes but the ones below have shorter episodes (might not be to everyone's taste), but perhaps:
- Archer [2009-?]
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy [1981] the TV series, not the movie
- Sledge Hammer! [1986-1988]
- Star Trek: The Animated Series [1973–1975]
- Star Trek: Lower Decks [2020–?]
- Stipperella [2003–2004]
- The Big Bang Theory [2007–2019]
- Tripping the Rift [2004–2007]
- What We Do In the Shadows [2019–?]
There is, however, a lot of silliness because we favor that in our collection.

I hope recovery is progressing adequately.

Oh...that is an accurate description of The Red Green Show but, on an outside chance, I'll mention that I hope your assessment is not based upon watching the show's second season, in 1992. That year they got some "help" from the network. Even Steve Smith, series co-writer/star ("Red Green"), thinks that season is bad.
