I can imagine exactly how that goes. People seem to think that only physical disabilities are real, and mental disabilities are imaginary. I suppose because they can't see evidence of them. :roll:

I think NT's constantly lie to one another. They're use to it. They know not to believe each other. When an autistic comes up with a request or boundary they just think we're lying like everybody else.

The distance from New York to Boston is exactly the same as the distance from Boston to New York.

As hard as it is for me to understand or “think like” an NT (neurotypical) person, it is really that hard for an NT person to understand or “think like” me.

I think you are correct. They just say what the other ones want to hear, not the truth. That's why they get nervous when we tell the truth, or question them about what they say.

But what is the point of having words and language if they aren't going to be used to communicate? We might as well wave flags or dance around instead of having a communication system like language. :roll:

I really don't like shaking hands after the pandemic. I offer a fist bump to people now.
