Seems to me like there's a lot of victim blaming going on in this thread...

I think in a sane world people would show some compassion for those of us who are disillusioned with humans for whatever reason because that sort of mindset stems from depression.

But again, we don't seem to live in a sane world.

I've spent my entire life dealing with people like this. I'm too exhausted from the experience to have any remaining compassion for people who embrace hating people. I don't care about their excuses, I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

Why is it that people who choose to be overwhelmingly toxic deserve extra compassion? They're not the only people dealing with depression, they're just the ones who seek to spread their depression to others like a plague.

If someone's attitude is everyone sucks and should die, that's a them issue. That's a sh***y attitude to have and that attitude will contribute to that person's life being harder. One can choose to be a bitter, miserable person, but that choice has consequences, like other people wanting nothing to do with that person.

Those people aren't victims of anything except their own terrible attitudes and yes, I'm blaming them for holding on to terrible attitudes.

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.

I don't hate it when I see it. I figure the person needs mental health help. I also don't put up with it in my life. People who are constantly negative stress me out and I have no room in my life for that stuff all the time. I'll hear people out if they're having a rough go, but pull that on me all the time every time without even trying to make improvements? Nah. I walk away from those types of people these days.

You absolutely get what's at the core of my complaint. They're exhausting to deal with; no one can bear dealing with toxic attitudes forever.

I used to be quite prone to those sorts of attitudes when I was younger, but I also had the insight that my own attitude was contributing to being more miserable than need be all the time. After having that insight, I strove to improve, rather than basking in my own misery and blaming others for just not putting up with me.

You obviously have zero empathy then if you really cannot understand why some people become disillusioned with the whole messed-up world. Treating them like they are the problem when you don't even bother to understand why they might feel that way just kind of proves their point.

Yes, I have little empathy for people who insist on making the world a more miserable place to exist in. They're not victims, they're perpetrators.
