Not diabetic, but I have hypoglycemia and hence predisposed to type 2 diabetes. I'm on low carb diet because of it - definitely doable and I feel better than ever on it. Hypoglycemia means I shake from being hungry all the time. It doesn't matter how much I eat, lol. But a diet rich in protein and fat and eith a lower glycemic index does the trick for me. So healthy meals: meat, rice or potatoes and veggies.

Have you ever had that diagnosed? I heard it can be caused by an insulinoma, which is a benign tumour that churns out insulin. Easily removed by surgery. Not saying you've got one of course.

Yes, diagnosed and idiopathic. No tumours, genetic, runs in my family.

virgil, hypoglycemia doesn't sound fun at all.

I've had what they call "hypos", where my blood sugar drops. The most recent one I had was last Wednesday. I'd just brought all my groceries in when I started feeling shaky, sweaty, weak and light-headed. Horrible feeling. So I ate a fruit and jelly cup and felt better.

I usually have a hypo every couple of months.
