Why are some Nintendo Switch games hard to find?

Some older games got discontinued when games that are kind of follow ups came out. Like Kirby Star Allies got Discontinued when Kirby and the Forgotten Land came out. I think Mario Odyssey also doesn't get physical copies any more and they stopped making Link's Awakening I think too.
A lot of games also got low print runs, I feel like i was super lucky to get Emio the Smiling Man

Some Switch games are hard to find just because they didn’t make a lot of physical copies, especially indie titles or games that didn’t seem super popular at first. Then if demand spikes later, they’re already sold out and prices go crazy. Also, Nintendo sometimes does those weird limited-time releases, which doesn’t help. Digital’s always an option, but I get why people want the physical versions.

hard to find on trademe (nz ebay) easy to find on ebgames (nz gamestop)
